Recruitment and Retention for 2026

Fair points DD. Evidently the Titans have an even worse record than us having never won a premiership in their 18 yrs. Only four finals 2009, 2010, 2016, 2021 plus two time wooden spooners. Whereas we can boast one premiership, 2010, 12 time finalists and no wooden spoons since '99. C'mon Campbell get on a winner. :p
It would be great if we can snag a goodie for a change while raising our own goodies. As you say RVH, the Titans have been in the NRL for 18 years (2007). They will win the premiership one day. It took the Sharks 49 years to achieve their first grand final trophy so the Titans still have 31 years to equal that.

One thing for certain, whoever Anderson and Flanno are after, they are keeping their cards very close to the chest. So far only a bit of idle media speculation and Campbell and Koloamatangi. Interesting no talk about Tino now. Has he already signed with Melbourne?

Justa, the Dragons have not given us fans any clue who they might be going for. Journos don't have much of an idea as well so they are doing lots of click baits. Flanno isn't giving anything away and Daniel Anderson's lips are sealed. In fact, is he still with us?? Hahaha!
Flanno has been burnt previously so obviously he's been told to zip it and silence is Anderson's way. So I'm not to concerned about all the media hearsay, i'll just wait until the end of November, one way or another we will know something straight from the club. If we do nothing then I will know the club still remains a shitfight in the recruitment process. All praise the mighty DA,,,,,,,,hopefully.

Aren’t cowboys still paying most of Leiluas contract? (No)
I cant remember if he was off contract when we got him or had one year to go. (Was immediately released by the Cowboys with a year to go)
LL saw out his initial contract with us at the start of his NRL journey 2016-2019 then signed a 3 year deal at the Tigers from 2020 and was coached by Madge Maguire who LL was really happy with until the Tigers gave Madge the flick and LL said that because he wasn't happy with Madge being sacked, he wanted out and they were happy to release him immediately to enable him to sign a 3 year deal with the Cowboys from mid 2022.

His time at the Cowboys wasn't that great as his playing time was a mixture of good and bad and on top of that he was charged with domestic violence (which was subsequently dropped) and then lost his licence for a few months and fined for DUI. LL still had a contract with the Cowboys for 2024 but with the dramas that he had caused was not in much favour at the Cowboys so they granted him an early release to sign with us in 2024 for 3 years which ends after the 2026 season.

He is on about $900K a year and the Dragons pay the full amount. He currently is on a diet to lose plenty of weight, the last time he did that was when he joined the Tigers and he did really well as a result.

I have a feeling that seeing LL's contract is up at the end of 2026, he is trying to lose plenty of weight and become much fitter so that he shines more than not in games. Good luck to him.

The thing that annoys me about LL is the same as what used to annoy me about Josh Kerr. They are both big and mobile, have a bit of footwork and LL has a bit of ball playing on top of that. But they don't seem to break many tackles. As a matter of fact, I can't really remember them breaking any tackles. Why not? No leg drive?

Correct Eric, the thing that annoys me is we must have dieticians and nutritionists at the club, I'm sure they have been pounding him about his weight, why has it taken the last year of his contract to start caring about his weight or maybe George Rose is his mentor.

We can just call him Sun Tzu and be done with it. But he isn't young. 27 next year according to the link above.
Yeah Morgan good pickup, outside backs are usually on their 2nd or 3rd contract by then, what's the lifespan of wingers these days ? I see the sharks winger Katoa could be on the lookout for another club, I think he is not that much older but I know which one I'd rather have.
