There may have been talk, but I think it was mostly within this forum, I dont think Flanno would entertain the idea unless in an emergency. He said on a podcast that he wanted to get Gutho more involved from FB.
Yeah, I think that's true. Not what he once was but still good.
Just my views and I make these comments based on what I saw from him last season. He won't have the necessary speed and stamina to get more involved. Of course the coach will run certain attacking plays involving the fb but at 31 yrs of age he will struggle.

WE could have at least kept him being the one forward that stepped up in another poor Matts side.
But Sloan can't tackle and can occasionally get between defenders, very occasionally, but can't break a tackle.
Im told Halangahu younger brother will be stepping up to Matt's next season and is a promising forward.
Sloan is top 30 though I think Flanno is trying to move him on. No takers in the Aus it seems. He has the game to be much better in England.

Reliable source? My last information was he was looking for big bickies over a longish contract and although we need a player of his quality in that prop position our club wasn't willing to do either.
ESL would suit his game, the wingers don't get their jersey's dirty over there.His big issues in my view was his inability to put his body on the line and was poor defensively, otherwise he would have been a keeper because of his try scoring ability.

Fingers crossed, Souths won't be playing semi finals football next season, neither will we unless we get a quality prop, not many around, if any, so if we manage to land him that will improve our forward stocks greatly and allow LPT more time to develop his skillset.
