Recruitment and Retention for 2026

There may have been talk, but I think it was mostly withing this forum, I dont think Flanno would entertain the idea unless in an emergency. He said on a podcast that he wanted to get Gutho more involved from FB.
Just my views and I make these comments based on what I saw from him last season. He won't have the necessary speed and stamina to get more involved. Of course the coach will run certain attacking plays involving the fb but at 31 yrs of age he will struggle.

Shane Flanagan has declared Daniel Atkinson will get first crack in the No.7 jersey, leaving Kyle Flanagan and Lykhan King-Togia to battle for the five-eighth slot.

Our coach has finally bent to pressure. Now lets see how long he will give Atkinson before jettisoning him like Ilias and restored his son.

So with the signing of the Warriors winger TU who was a standout in the championship winning ressies team this season does that mean that Sloan will be playing ressies this season? Or because he is on a development contract Sloan remains in 1sts

Sloan is top 30 though I think Flanno is trying to move him on. No takers in the Aus it seems. He has the game to be much better in England.

ESL would suit his game, the wingers don't get their jersey's dirty over there. His big issues in my view was his inability to put his body on the line and was poor defensively, otherwise he would have been a keeper because of his try scoring ability.

Reliable source? My last information was he was looking for big bickies over a longish contract and although we need a player of his quality in that prop position our club wasn't willing to do either.
100% reliable and you’re right but looks like someone at the club has now changed their mind. substational offer put forth & it’s between us and souths now. must be wanting a kill

Fingers crossed, Souths won't be playing semi finals football next season, neither will we unless we get a quality prop, not many around, if any, so if we manage to land him that will improve our forward stocks greatly and allow LPT more time to develop his skillset.

I would say that around $1.1m a year would be reasonable perhaps over 5 yrs as he is a State and International player.
