We're away finally with a marquee =)
Lets hope we can start signing some secondary players off the back, but the timing may make that difficult to get anyone for 2026 in particular.. probably been a dozen players we would have been a fairly decent shot of landing if (in an hypothetical world) if we had his signing 6 months ago (understand that would have been impossible, just a hypothetical
).
Edit: I still think we would be very confident to get 1-2 more for 2027, but come Nov 1 this year.. I think we are right in the market for 2028...

Hearing we are still on the look out for a half. Worries me if Watsford, Flanagan etc dont want Kade Reed long term. I can see him leading an engine room comprising the Couchies, Keaon, Loko, Jake and prob the Meafou bros too, round the paddock in a few yrs time. Who better?

Mate watched my 1st Dragons game March 1970 at Kogarah. Over the years what I have learnt about Dragons fans is that we demand success and when they don't get it a lot jump on the popular social media bandwagon these days and sledge everyone from the coach to the ball boys.
Let us hope for some positivity to start this season from the fans. How long that lasts will depend on the on field performances.

There's an.old saying, " Don't put all your eggs in the one basket". I wouldn't be overly concerned about young Reed he still has years to go before he can game manage a 1st grade team so in the interim we need to shore up that position. Its just normal coaching due diligence.

And that's exactly the culture we need and actually confirming the reasons he wants to be part of the Dragons family will stand him in good sted both with the playing group and the fans. It was important for him to clarify that the money wasn't the number one reason he signed up. If he is excited, I am excited the players should also be excited we are about to write a new chapter.

Yep been banned also , who ever is running the show over there is a wanker , gutless , would not give any explanation why so had to change my name and email to get back on ........ They or he thinks he has the power over everyone ..... Anyway as you say , here is much better so if I get banned again I don't give a rat's .........

It is strange, the other place has a way of turning the most level headed and even tempered person into an outright keyboard warrior flog (me included).

As for KK ... it is a massive massive signing for us.
It shows that there is a change, even if we had to pay overs and agree to a contract potentially a little long, we have gone to market and signed the best available player in their position.
Happy that we have Watsford and Anderson on board leading this and if TPAs were involved to close the deal then a massive thumbs up to Club 17 and whatever connections were involved to close it out.
With the tigers, the first signing was the important one and from Luai they secured several more off the back of it. I hope that we can do something similar and by the time KK arrives have a balanced squad across all positions.

Flanagan also said Atkinson could be our long term half. That is a double whammy on young Reed who I think will be FG ready before you maintain as he has the ability of other similar aged halfs that have already debuted in the top grade. He has only been extended to '27 too.

Excellent news and well done to the club. For the amount of times that I have bagged the club out over recruiting, this time they deserve all the praise. Marvelous what having the right people in place does. Well done Dragons.

You and I both mate and well deserved I add, as we have missed out on some serious talent which kept us below finals quality. Hopefully now there will be blokes actually wanting to follow Kolo here so our recruiting task will be halved. Any decent Rabbits bar Mitchell looking to join a club on the up are most welcome.
