Thank you, for your kind words.

You know my old man now with the good lord was 16 when the Germans came knocking on his door in Poland. He and 1 brother escaped to England and fought Rommel in the Nth Africa and Sicily campaigns.

He was proud as punch when I graduated in 1981 from the NSW P.A.

He shook my hand and said " Son, Treat everyone the same as you would expect them to treat you". Held me in good stead for 39 yrs. I still abide by that advice.
Good advice there Jo.

Frank - it is interesting what could potentially be achieved outside the cap especially within families ...

Could the a club where a players dad is in a key role slip that Dad a bit extra and at christmas the son get a really nice christmas present from dad
Could the a club sponsor give a players family member a really cushy job

the player/agent relationship and finances there would be pretty heavily scritinised by clubs/nrl but things that happen outside the cap are a dark art.
jodragon40 jodragon40 would know better than me but as long as you are speaking about such things being hypothetically possible, but not accusing anyone, I would think it's ok.
I wondered the same thing.
Hypothetically speaking, if you had A the father as coach and B the son as a big name player, would it be possible to sit them together and say, "Okay A, here is what we will do. We will offer you 1 million a year, which is about 250k overs for you and we will also offer your son 1 million a year which is a bit less than he could earn at another club but we want you, A to pay B 200k from your paycheck. That way B is making the same money he could get elsewhere, you (A) are also making a bit more than you could make elsewhere and it's saving us 200k on the salary cap.

Unless they have the same manager or no manager, I guess it wouldn't be possible.

Totally agree JO , my dad said much the same to me just before his passing ......... "Son life is like a mirror you , poke your tongue at the mirror it will do the same back" ........ In other words let's try and be good to others and good will eventually come your way ......... Morals and Respect go a long way , anyway enough on what's right and what's wrong Lets get on with 2026 Dragons to play Semi football this year bar injuries .........

Following his six years with Souths, the back-rower told Dragons media he is looking forward to a new challenge, he told Dragons media.

“I’m excited to be joining the Dragons. The club’s ambition really impressed me,” he said. “I’ve been watching the squad they’re building and the young forwards coming through, and I want to be part of driving that next era. “I’ve loved my time at Souths, but I am looking forward to bringing my experience, my standards and everything I’ve got to the Red V.

Koloamatangi will join the Dragons ahead of the 2027 preseason.

Unfortunately it sounds like he won't be coming a year early.

Yeah there was no way Souths would release him, not with the forwards they have lost. Lets just all hope that no major injuries strike him and he arrives fit and healthy.

Flanno reckons that he had anxious moments before KK's 10 day cooling off period ended and his signing was ratified/confirmed. He said :
"It's like a pregnant father waiting for his first child. Whilst it's not until 2027, it's a big signing for the club and it's a sign of where we want to take the club."
Haha! A pregnant father?

I still reckon the whole cooling off period is a farce Dave, all it does is extract more money from the incumbent club to try and keep the player. It means 2 things to me either the manager knew there was more to give or you cant get blood out of a stone. I think there is more than enough negotiations going on prior to signing without having to wait a ridiculous 10 days.

You are spot on Justa. I think that the Dragons entered into preliminary talks with KK's manager a couple of months ago and he eventually got what he wanted for his client from us and knew he couldn't get anything more from Souths and basically the deal was done weeks ago but then the damned 10 day cooling off period had to be adhered to delaying the official announcement.

This is my equal 2nd favorite game ever. No.1 is obviously the game against the Rorters some years ago. This game and the game against the then red hot Tigers the week before the Rorters game are equal second. I can't remember exactly but the week before Wayne had the opportunity for the Donkeys to finish higher on the ladder but didn't in order to play us in week 1 of the finals.

JDB, basically on one leg had a blinder. Tariq Sims pulled the "look at the scoreboard" when the Donkeys players got aggressive near full time. LAM dominated the bigger name Donkeys props. Lafai gave the then very highly regarded James Roberts a bath.

Donkey's took a long time to recover from it. I believe that was the off season Wayne got sacked. But it was also the off season we had THAT incident with JDB.....

What's your best? I have 3, Game 2 1977, GF, 1979 GF and of course most recent the 2010 GF. I was there for each of these games. Wonderful lasting memories

Of course the 2010 win against the Rorters.
My wife and I were seated in the area next to the chookpen. At ht she was pretty quiet and they were giving it to us, perhaps next year, or the coach won't be scoring a try tonight.

Well with 20 to go they started leaving and my wife stands up and starts singing and waving them goodbye. I thought I'm going to get into some fisticuffs here but a few middle fingers later they left in peace.

I have my 2010 GF T shirt and tank top still. In fact I wear the tank top to bed in the summer time. I wear my t shirt when I travel overseas. It reads 32 - 10 , Dragons forever.
