Recruitment and Retention for 2026

So I assume our recruiting for 2026 is over ? We have a few spots left, looks like they remain empty, oh well I hope DA knows what he is doing. If you take it on face value there really isn't much to get excited about with our 2026 recruits, here's hoping they surprise a lot of people, myself included.
Things can still change between now and June 30 in rugby league. Couple of extra available spots isn’t a bad thing at this stage

Yeah agree mate, just that I was expecting a whole lot more action with all the names that were being bandied around, and with the cap space. But I'm still excited about how our juniors are going to perform, bring on Vegas.

I think there will be improvement overall with the Dragons in 2026 without any further signings, Justa. Those injuries last season knocked the stuffing out of the team. With Holmes and Suli back plus the Couchmans, Stewart for the start of 2026 and Egan returning in possibly Round 10 and a couple of signings that might benefit us together with what looks like a fitter, stronger and faster squad, the Dragons hopefully will be shining in more games than not. I wonder who will lead the team victory song now that JDB has left us?

I would hazard a guess Dave and say Gutho.

I would go with one of SuA or Stewart.
After going through the team it would have to be a player that would play in nearly all of the games and a leader and I would say it will be Gutho. Su'a could but I don't think he is vocal enough and Stewart is just in his second year in first grade with many weeks out in 2025. Looking at others - Cook, maybe, Kyle - no, Holmes - maybe, Suli - no, Wingers - no, Atkinson - no, Kerr, Guler, Couchmans, Leilua - no and Liddle - no. so I think it will be Gutho.

Gutho's a recent import. Cook is more likely. But I'm going with Stewart, Egan or one of the Couchmans.

If Melbourne are after and will probably get Lomax, but they are refusing to swap him for Coats or Howarth, does that mean Warbrick is on the outer? Or Bellamy thinks he's going to succeed where others have failed and turn Lomax into a good centre?
He had a bit of a shocker in the GF but can't see him being pushed out after 1 bad game, even the GF. I can only guess Bellamy wants to go with Lomax and Howath In the centres.

Unless Warbrick has already told Melbourne he plans to leave. Probably to go to the Warriors or Rugby Union.

I think they see their premiership window closing. Hughes & Munster are 31. Bellamy probably has a year left and most of their depth like Wishart & Meaney will be gone. Probably feel they are one gun centre away from a premiership. Whether that’s Lomax remains to be seen but hard to gamble against Bellamy getting him to there.

He's an elite winger. Hasn't proven to be anything more than an average centre but Bellamy doesn't often get it wrong. Unless he plans to move Warbrick to centre.

Be a hard act to follow same as replacing him on the field DD. Jack is now in the enemy camp, but I will never accept why we did not give him a swan song year. We can only live in hope we are 'faster, fitter stronger" and will ''shine in more games than not".

I’m starting to think R360 was a smoke screen for Lomax to go to Melbourne this whole time.
I really cant see what argument Lomax has, you signed on the dotted line pal and if anything the Dragons should have hung your arse out to dry as well. All I can say is I'm so happy Lomax is not at the Dragons, thank F$#K
