It appears that Ronald Volkman's and the Eels' negotiations have broken down and he could be free to join another NRL club next year - prefers to stay in OZ.

Wouldn't mind him to sign with us again. To me he shows much more talent than Atkinson and he would definitely be a good halves partner with Metcalf. Volkman has a great running game and is evasive and has a good kicking game. A good 5/8th in my opinion.

Totally agree would be a really good pick-up ........ That would give us good coverage in the halves with Reed , Medcalf , Atichinson , and Kyle if needed ........

Seems he and club parted ways on bad terms. Would he be better than Atkinson or LKT? Seems like another fringe first grade 5/8 to me. I think we will end up with Reed halfback and Metcalf 5/8.

Not sure about that at this time he is better than anyone we have , either way would be good for depth within the club ......... But as you say parted with us not on good terms ........

Only if the Tigers chip in for his salary. How about a player swap Kyle for Jerome.

But Watson is a one year rental, however we would have to meet Luai’s million dollar salary, unless the Tigers chip in. So I do not think he will come here. I wonder who he will play with ? Maybe he stays at the Tigers ? Volkman was purged by Flanno because he was competition for Kyle. But he has been going well at Parramatta. I wonder how much he wants ?

Honestly, Mug Fan told us about Volkman about a week or 10 days before it was made public. The guy was injured and required a shoulder reco which would see him miss the season. What use would we have for a short-term halfback unavailable in the short term?

Though Flanno's behavior vis-a-vis various halves was transparently all in order to benefit Kyle.
