Glover is not same as Ilias ... Glover was told he was next to get a chance, was told earlier in the season he was in front of LKT.
Controlled reserves all year as a proper 7 when 1st grade needed a 7 .. didnt get a chance at all because daddy preferred junior.
Justified in his decision to leave and be disgruntled - however the choice of club to go to a bit interesting considering the depth the bunnies have in halves/
Glover is currently 23 years old and is yet to play first grade. Even at 22 last year, he would have been late to play first grade. Not many backs who have not played first grade by 23 turn out to be anything special. There are some exceptions. Cliff, Lyons 23, Paul McGregor 23, Cody Walker 26 and Nicho Hynes 23 are 4 players who come to mind. Lyons turned out to be very special. Here is a copy and paste regarding McGregor

Dapto centre played reserve grade with I’warra in 1989 but returned to the local competition the following year to play with his mates. McGregor was at first reluctant to return to grade but was finally lured back to the Steelers in 1991.

The plot thickens.

I can understand the clubs reluctance to invest time and resources in players who aren’t here for the long term.

It must cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to bring a promising youngster up to even factory standard.

That would be a consideration for retention. How much the club has put into the player and whether it’s been value.

Within individual variables, what’s an acceptable pass mark?

I have a mate who got told his nrl footy ambitions were over. 5 or 6 years later he’s eternally grateful for the honesty of that coach. It might spoil the story for some, but my footy mate rated Hook. I think you can have good footy minds out there that can’t quite find their way at certain clubs and so forth.

Hes playing in the Penrith A grade this season as he loves footy. Training is a lot of running and even more running during the milder summer evenings. Horses for courses!
I think there would be many good players who for different reasons, don't make first grade or maybe should have or could have. Some don't even get picked for the junior rep teams because of favourtism towards others or for what ever reasons.
