Look, insofar as recruitment goes to fit in with this Thread, the Club has to look seriously at recruiting a better coach. No ifs, ands or buts about it. This obviously is just my opinion and that is the best that Flanno will bring to the club is a semi game, if that. He will not bring about a long term situation whereby our club will be top 4-8 every year and that is what the club should be aiming for. Mary got us a semi game which was good at the time but what was the use of that when he crashed, Hook crashed and now looks like Flanno will crash?
Recruiting a head coach that has the ability to ensure systems are in place to keep the club in the upper section of the ladder yearly is what I want not a maybe semi and that's it for years to follow.

Michael Maguire is off contract with Brisbane after 2027. Short of winning another premiership, he’s likely to have most of Brisbane offside by then, which puts us in a reasonably strong position to target a proven coach.

Webster is off contract with New Zealand at the end of 2028. He is looking like the best long term target right now. I would give Flanno to 2028 and be looking to replace him with Webster in 2029. But would he sign with us? He is looking like a very good coach. If we could get him, he would be worth the wait. I would imagine there would be numerous other clubs lining up for his signature, including Easts.

Nathan and Ivan Cleary are both off contract at the end of 2027. I know I am dreaming, but that would be the best double signing we could make. Easts and several other clubs may also be looking at that package deal as well.
I mention Easts because 1 Politis almost always gets his man and 2 there has been talk that Easts may be looking to replace Robinson. Would Robinson be a good coach for us? At least he usually has Easts playing an attacking brand of football, but he has pretty much always had a very good roster to work with.

Any other coaches besides the likes of Cleary, Webster and Bellamy would be massive gambles. Would prospective young coaches even apply or take the job if offered right now? I would rather wait for the right one if possible. I doubt it will happen, but that is the best case scenario. lol Ivan and Nathan have apparently knocked back extending with Penrith and Nathan apparently wants to test the open market.

Besides 2018 we haven't had many winning hands since 2011. Who are the coaches you think would bring us success next year?You would continue on with a proven losing hand rather than take a gamble.

I don't fuking know. It would be a gamble. All the proven good coaches are signed at other clubs. But I'd rather take a gamble than put up with another day of the losing bullshit under this loser coach and his fuking useless leech son.

We have pretty much been losing since Bennett left. It didn't start with Flanno. Hopefully it finishes with Flanno or at least when the next coach takes over, we are in a position to win. We certainly were not in a position to win when Flanno took over. We were either favourites or second favourites for the spoon the year Flanno took over, last year and this year. As Flanno said, he hasn't got the cattle. Some are upset with him being truthful and saying we won't win the comp this year. Imagine if he said we would win the comp. Most people would have ripped into him for saying such an outlandish statement.
Just remember Dean Young is positioned to be our next coach.

I don't see Shane as a bad coach. He has one major issue and that's his son. If he would make the tough call and fix our halves problem with good recruiting along with a few other positions I think he could be successful however if he doesn't make the call it should be good bye. The club need to step in and force the issue on him if he doesn't comply let him resign however I don't see any outstanding coach's that are actually available.
