View attachment 1033In layman’s terms - We are going to be sacking the coach but we don’t know whether it’s tomorrow or 2 weeks from now

The good news is every single player on that list I would happily let go. Problem is are the replacements going to be an improvement or at least young with potential to develop
Good start but if its in 2 weeks it will be more of a disaster than what it already is.

Could be good news as far as keeping them goes. Flanno would have blown all our cap on vets before we got around to extending Couchies. He was super keen on Barnett. Probably was looking at others in the same price range.
What I dont get is, we had all this trouble in recruiting, DA was appointed and by first looks seems to know his stuff. But I read somewhere that Flanno has final say on who he wants. You would think it would be the opposite.

I think they all work together (Anderson, Haran and Flanno) to identify the type of players the club needs and then Anderson gets his scouts to check out players everywhere as well as himself if he can get ready access to games plus look at hours of videos on players already at the club and players externally and if they see anyone that fits the bill, they would all get their say on yay or nay etc and then Ando starts his enquiries with the players' managers, if legally able to do so, once those players have been identified. My opinion again.

Yep I did read somewhere though Dave that Flanno has the final say.

Good news to me.. means things are happening in the background and Shane should be gone asap.. am hoping they appoint an interim though, and dont jump straight to a fulltime replacement (which could only be Young if there is no world wide search involved).

Brent Read said today that sacking the coach was a decision made by owners, in our case Lancaster and Craig Young as representatives of both sides.. news to me.. simplifies things but seems like a conflict of interest with Craig and his son.

We just can't escape highly placed fathers with under-performing sons.

There is no harder interim gig going either.. awful roster and the good part of the season is about to be finished.. no way Ennis would step into that.. as a permanent 2027 coach maybe.. but I reckon he will take another option elsewhere. Young probably takes it though its quite a poisoned chalice.. Willie maybe but he is probably best to keep doing what hes doing in cup.. otherwise its some rando import.. which is unlikely.

Yeah thats quite bazaar Rev, you would think its a board decision.

Yep. They'd need to know the players too. It's going to be young ffs.

How about Des Hasler or Anthony Seibold? The way I see it, anyone brought in from the outside for the rest of this year, will want the job long term but those 2 might not. Hasler will want to prove a point and Seibold wants a job for the rest of the year until he goes to rugby or becomes as assistant.
Two interesting suggestions, Edward. Hasler feels the more entertaining option, and just unpredictable enough to conjure a couple of wins.

I would still like Arthur
