If Metcalf is signed for more than a couple of years, Kade Reed is gone. Lot of people turning on him after 2 games where he wasn't that bad.

Kade was far from bad in those 2 nrl games it was only his lightweight frame that didnt help him, what was Gutho Holmes Feagai Setus excuse?
He showed great attacking skills at times in a poor backline. Remember he has only played 2 or 3 Reserve games as well.

Nah I dont think it had anything to do with us Rev, Cleary mentioned he was asked to think about things 2 years ago and he thought now was the right time to do it, not gone until the end of 27 anyway. I'd imagine Wallace knew about this beforehand and no way was he going anywhere else. He was a complete gentleman referring to the Dragons this weekend, said we picked a strong side and they will have to work to beat us.

Not that I think we will get Metcalf, we haven't even got a coach and there would be numerous clubs chasing him. But in realistic terms I think KR is at least 2 years off being a standalone NRL 7. I was looking at him being in ressies this year, then having some time in the NRL next year and by 28 we have a 7 who can handle things. Also by that time I'm expecting a much better Dragons side running onto the park. Lets face it KR with our current backline is on a hiding to nothing, KR with a much improved backline with an experienced 6 or 7 then we have our future locked in for at least another 10 years.

Even if we get Metcalf, I reckon we need a few more high quality outside backs to actually make him an effective half.

Ideally he'd have been given the rest of this year in reserve grade but things have turned out that he can't. But definitely next year should be doing everything to prepare him for first grade.

100% KW, even if we had Laurie Daley and Joey Johns as our halves with the way the rest of our current backline is we would get SFA in return.

If we do get Metcalf, Watson along with Drinkwater, Sami and KK and hopefully a good centre this will be our best recruitment year in many a year.........which is pretty good considering we are last and lacking a good coach.

That fast stepping centre COULD be Buchanan, but he needs to let his game mature a lot more.
Only then can we tell if he's a worthy prospect or not

For me the jury is out on Hayden, Im not seeing a 1st grade centre at this stage, like you say give him more time this year and next maybe. It seems a few on here like Charlie Heidke

my point was more around, is she leaving because its a footy decision or shes leaving on compasionate grounds because she doesnt want to see her ex boyfriend around the joint... it creates a toxic environment in the whole squad

If we had a veteran but still good halfback but we don't. So sign one, costing a lot, for a few years and say goodbye to Reed or stick with Reed. That's all there is to it. Unless a good halfback will sign for only a year or two but I very much doubt that.

Brodie Croft is that 7 for a year or two, but will he be a good enough.
Its a real catch 22 ..... get Metcalf for 3 years and maybe this year and possibly lose Kade or get Brodie and keep Kade.
