Well there may be another option and that is Reed comes straight in at 6 or 7 with Metcalf.

Although the same is true for LKT also.

It may be though that both Atko and LKT (…and possibly even Kyle) need a better coach to unlock their potential and get them combining with Metcalf and performing at an elite level.

I dont blame KF one bit, blame his dad !!! He came here as a 14, was touted as the best half in the joint by his dad who also kept on saying he was our best performer in most games. So in the end we get what KF is and he certainly isn't a 6 or 7, actually I feel sorry for him.

Totally agree with you RVH. Atkinson has done zilch to excite me one bit. Not my cuppa tea. Was never excited about his signing sorry to say.

That guy by the name of Shane Flanagan certainly didn't have an eye for talent.

Kyle lacks so much as far as I am concerned especially in attack. I do feel sorry for him in a way (an outcast of the Sharks, Roosters, Bulldogs and very likely, the Dragons). Our problem is that he is signed to the end of 2027.

I wouldn’t be writing Atkinson off just yet DD. Flanno screwed him by playing him at 7, which he isn’t. Had a good game vs Melbourne, beautiful try assist for Holmes, another later in the game too.

Having Kyle with him, then the broken bone in his hand hasn’t helped and neither has the form of the outside backs.

Showed a couple of good runs at the line vs Penrith and poked his nose through, probably does get through and score against most other sides outside of the pennies strong defence.

I thought he played well in Vegas. It looks to me like he's gradually lost confidence. Luke Metcalf will help him by making his job a lot simpler.

Your comments are good redv13. We have him contracted to the end of 2028 so him at 5/8th and Metcalf at 7 starting next year might be the combo that will improve our attack many fold. That is what I am really hoping for. In the meantime, if he can improve significantly throughout the balance of this season, I will then eat my words.

All he had do is say “No dad. This club deserves better than what I can give them at 7. You need to recruit someone else.” But instead he just took the upgrade and played on.

No sympathy here for Kyle.

Would you embarrass your father nationally by telling the world that basically he has no idea, as the coach of the Dragons. Remember he was brought as a 14 and got put into place (maybe it was a master plan ) as a 6 or 7 because of injury or suspension etc and his father suffered the ultimate indignity by being so arrogant and delusional.

Is said a long time ago, I think early last season or maybe the season before, it seems pretty obvious Flanno would rather get sacked than drop Kyle. I thought Kyle should've privately said early on, he wants to play in the position Flanno said he was signed for and that he doesn't think he can make it in the halves.

This would have been to save his Dad's career and give him a chance in a position he really might make it. Though I think we can see, he was only ever going to suitable as a backup 14.
