One thing last nights debacle underlined for me is just how hard being a coach must be. Everyone was incredulous it took AFB so long to get on and then was on for such a short time and how Koroisau didn't get on. It seemed like the most obvious thing.

'Laurie, my man, gotta bring AFB on when Haas goes off. Don't give them a break. Keep the foot on the throat.'
and
'Laurie, my man, Robson isn't working out. No creatively out of dummy half. Gotta bring Koroisau on.'

But he just couldn't get it. Like he wanted to lose. Maybe someone needs to check if Laurie Daley has a gambling addiction.

To be brutally honest, we all know that both Couchman's and Stewart are way better than the likes of Victor Radley especially but I'd add Barnett, Lucas and maybe AFB to that list as well. But would it be better if they continued to fly under the radar until they are sighed long-term?

No. Better to have them selected so everyone knows signing with the Dragons is no handicap when it comes to selection for rep teams.

This NSW team is much better, IMO. But still Robson at hooker..... big mistake. He's a tackling machine which is good but not really needed at that level as all of them do everything well, including tackling. Also I wouldn't have picked Liam Martin. A few of those Penrith players are finally slipping.

Also I'd have picked Tom Trbojevic ahead of Bradman Best.

How many players are the Dolphins going to have in Origin? Surely they must be under salary cap stress. Any chance of bringing Jack Bostock home?

I reckon this is the best team Daley has picked yet. I wouldn't have picked Liam Martin. He's not the player he used to be. This will also be Isaac Yeo's last series before Cam Murray and Hamish Stewart become the lock rotation next year. I'd also have leaned toward Tom Turbo rather than Bradman Best but that's really a toss up.

This big one for me is Reece Robson. If he was playing for us rather than the Rorters, he wouldn't even be considered. He's just a tackling machine. Good at NRL level but not good enough for Origin. But the big plus is no Victor Radley who is so average even considering he plays for the Rorters, was astonishing he was picked.
  • NSW by 14
  • FTS - Nawa........ the Rorters winger
  • MOM - Haas

Would love NSW to win ... but there are problems with that team

1. Decider up there - puts us on the back foot immediately
2. Mitch Moses has hardly played the last two months
3. Robson from DH isnt that attacking threat
4. Daley's use of the bench
5. Three of Game 1s best players on the bench, 2 unlikey to even play

It is hard to see the players overcoming the handbrake in the coaches box.

I agree with all that but with nuance, as they say.
  1. Nothing can be done about that but was it 2 years ago there was a decider up there and NSW won?
  2. Yep. I would've picked Luai if available but it's a hard one. Moses is obviously better but Luai and Cleary obviously combine better.
  3. 💯
  4. 💯
  5. I thought Strange's game was overrated, like the player himself. The other 2 are Brailey and Murray? I think they'll get plenty of minutes.
