Agree, but we still need to get the right blokes in the right position and see if they can gel over weeks/months to come... at the very least we have blooded some players, all be it in a losing side.

these ongoing injuries make that very difficult.. feels like every 2nd week we need another backline adjustment.. if Val, Fale and Feagai and Suli r all out, man that pushes us.. I dont have anyone in NSW Cup either that I feel is rdy for a promotion... spose we can play Lawson..

I think luch is back but sua still suspended. I dunno anymore. But agree with rev that some players need weeks to see if they can form a positive comb. Is atko injury legit? How long is he out for?

I dunno what to do with the backline. Just trying to get some more speed & athleticism on our edges. I hope guler is dropped, our pack and bench is solid on paper. Jacob needs more mins.

CT will come back in. Best he has looked for a while, movement wise. If Holmes out and Suli back it is:

Gutho
CT
Suli
Buchanan
Sloan
Atkinson
Reed

Magic Round we should rename it Miracle Round because we need one just to be competitive. If we allow the Panthers the same room and time we gave the Knights it could get very ugly for us.

You could see the pain of that performance yesterday on the young faces of especially our forwards after the siren. They were genuinely hurting and that's not a bad thing.

So based on the last two games and who we have available we need wholesale changes.

Now this is going to be unpopular with a lot of you but we really need to get young Reed out of there before we cruel him. He is our future club 7 but not now.

Holmes should be dropped but the coach won't do that. LKT is a ressies player and no more. Hopefully Liddle is back off the bench.

I was impressed with O'Neil in ressies but Im not sure if he can play 1sts.

My team for miracle Round looking through the eyes of our interim coach is:

1. Gutherson
2. CT
3. Holmes
4. Buchanan
5. Sloan
6. Atkinson
7. O'Neil / Flanagan (6/7)
8. LPT
9. Cook
10. T Couchman
11. Egan
12. R Couchman
13. Stewart
14. Liddle
15. Halangahu
16. Guler
17. Kerr

I still believe Flanagan needs to be somewhere in the 17 but im not sure of the current status quo with the internal politics with him. I think we are missing his defence on the edge but that's just me.

Maybe we should just pick our best 17 tacklers and see if we can keep a team under 20 points

this is my thought and why im so pissed off about having Suli/Holmes/Feagai/Fale and possibly Atkinson unavailable.. esp this weekend.. we cant be having a side just throw any shape at our edges and scoring.. 6 tries down Tu's edge was ridiculous, we didnt defend any of it..

hate to say it, but were talking about a Flanno selected squad if u want to minimise the damage.. but we cant keep gifting 20-30pts like we have been... games over in a heartbeat.. and it gives the opposition energy and confidence.. and the opposite to us.

I honestly thought our young forwards held their own against the Knights. Mooney who has been on fire was kept quiet. 3 of their forwards ran for 100m plus but so did ours.

Yardage wise we ran for 720m they managed 615m. I like what I see in the middle of the park with our young forwards developing with 1sts experience.

Defensively we missed 14 tackles main offender was Kerr missing 4 because he lacks the necessary lateral movement. They were better in that area.

Its the backs where we are getting flogged every week and I can't see much improvement on the horizon with what we have available.

I thought Stewart and Egan did well to protect their halves. Lkt and Reed had issues but showed some good moments with the ball. If anything, I'm giving then time to gel with Stewart and Egan. I'd also not tinker with their mins, get them playing 80 on the edge.

The best learnings will be on the field and through 1st grade experience. Being scared of 'damaging them' now won't give us any benefit. I think it's a great learning experience for lkt and Reed against panthers. Plus all the other youngsters.

It's our backline defence which is a massive issue on both sides. f*cking hope Suli is okay, play him right ctr. Holmes has to play on the left wing when he's fit.

So are Holmes and suli both defs outs v panthers?

Not this week but can someone like Tom kirk play 1st grade? Tall quickish nsw cup winger. Atleast just kicking to a tall player is an easy attacking option. We tried targeting hamish v knights. We have no aerial threat. Basically one area of attack doesn't exist for us.

Decision making on the edges is woeful. Repeatedly caught in no man's land.

In my humble personal views LKT should never pull on another 1sts jersey for us.

Our halves? Because its not the job of forwards to be making decisions, well it wasn't in my day. That is one job we never gave to our forwards each one has a job to do and it certainly wasn't which attacking structures to initiate
