Round 13 v Broncos Sunday.

Most of us have been saying that our attack has been crap and this has been the situation for months now. Without being negative (which is what I have been for a loooong time - which is to me my only way of trying to reverse things psychologically) again, I cannot see us improving our attack to win this Round 13 match against a desperate Broncos team.

We have never shown much in attack this year and even if we do score say 3 converted tries - 18 points is virtually nothing if you cannot defend them with real conviction because, while our defence is reasonable, it isn't solid so for us to win, we need to score at least 6 converted tries against the Broncos and with our "reasonable" defence, we could then win by 2-4 points. I just cannot see us scoring those 6 converted tries.

Personally I'm philosophical about this whole thing.

This is better than coming 9th or 10th and no changes being made. Mr. Haran and Flanagan still hanging around, KF still first picked each week. Unwanted veterans like Mr. Gutherson still being signed on big money. Bostock, Tamale, Finau let go in order make way for Setu Tu.

No, this is much better and I think will lead to long-term success. That's the way I'm looking at it.

Correct. The path to Zen is renunciation. In order to turn towards the future, we must completely turn away from the past. This season of utter on field dogshit has helped with that.

That said, a win would be fuckin nice

Wow, I love the positivity shown by quite a few of you. Love the useless facts provided by Mug Fan Mug Fan that gives us all hope that based on history we are half a chance against the Ponies.

Then I go and spoil it all by watching the Warriors game again which is an old coaching habit of mine from years long gone, and reality crushes me.

If anyone is game have another look, especially our attacking structures inside the opposition 20m you will observe a very disorganised attacking structures.

Personally I have never seen some of those structures, they lacked direction and appeared nonsensical to me. An example being Sloans pass to the feet of CT. The lack of genuinely new attacking structures caught my eye because there wasn't any.

Stats wise, in attack, 68% completion rate will not win you many games, 15 handling errors.

Defensively to my eye we have massive issues on both edges of our structures caused by inexplicable misreads. This allowed the Warriors to score 6 tries. 29 missed tackles didn't help either.

Mark my words, Walsh will want to prove Slater wrong for leaving him out of the origin squad come gameday especially after the Blues win game 1.

If our kick chase doesn't improve significantly he is going to have a field day and the Ponies will be starting their sets on a regular basis between their 20 and 30m mark.

Unfortunately a 0 - 12 start to the season is more than likely. The bookies agree, Broncos $1.12, Dragons $6.40.

I will be at the ground, tickets purchased because I love my Dragons but im fearing a long trip home on the train surrounded by Pony supporters, and they are not good winners.

Be positive mate, win and you’ll be loving the trip home. You don’t want to be that team that loses first to us. Would love to see one of the couchies or Egan/Stewart iron out Hunt
