In the backs, Sloan and Holmes had their best games I can remember. I thought Gutho had a really good game.

Actually, we beat the team in 3rd place who have been the form team of the competition over the last 2 months. The whole team played well. Even Kyle was adequate. For the first time.

I would quantify that by saying in the 2nd half we seemed to knuckle down... the first half.. we got in front and instantly started giving the ball back set after set.. was driving me bonkers I thought same old habits and we will just hand the game back.

But you compare this game to the last time we played the sharks and led at half time.. world of difference.. they said gutho was laying down the law at half time.

To me that shows you the depth we have in our engine room. We didn't have our best forward out there today but you wouldn't have known it.

Less possession, less completion rate our defence won us that game holding the Sharks to 3 tries, 16 points. Now that is what you have to avg over a whole season to be a competitive top 8 team. Let us hope we can continue on that path.

Couchman is just unbelievable, without his brother he took up any perceived slack in the middle, he made 67 tackles, absolutely insane numbers for a young forward. On top of that he ran for 148m closely followed by the impressive LPT who ran for 134m and was the best prop out there today, both outstanding.

In the backs all of them led by Gutherson had their best figures for quite sometime. Gutherson ran for 200m same as Katoa. Sloan also went very well scoring a try and running hard.

Who would have dreamed that the player dropped pre game would eventually be the match winner. Kudos to TU.

A decent win against a genuine top 4 team.

I was also impressed with Stewart's post match interview, thanked the fans firstly. He has future leader written all over him. Well done lads.

Agree with everything you said Red T. Sloan looks so much better sincew he camne back to firsts. Stronger and tougher. I am surprised that the Sharks didn't pepper him with their high kicks but I am glad they didn't. Sloan will do well in England, owever, unsure who will be the Tigers' coach over there as Carr has been suspended for a game but could be longer or gone altogether. I feel that Sloan, Cook and Feagai will honour their signing to play with them in any case.

Sloan also... jesus hes actually turning into an NRL winger.. several times tonight he goes and actually tries to beat someone.. like.. actually he means it.. and he did.. so frustrating to have spent so many years working on him.. that said.. for 500k there are other options comparable.. just frustrated its only now we are seeing it... he looks a bit more solid too around the thighs and stuff.

Dragons posted a clip of Sloan and Nathan Blacklock sitting down to chat about old Tingha highlights... and he saw all those classic moments of Blacklock lurking in the middle of the field, sniffing offloads and making breaks wellaway from his standard wing position on the sideline. Finally Tyrell did that his week. Definitely a tinge of sadness seeing him leave but sometimes, you just gotta.
