Would be great to see Reed get a run for the rest of the season and piss Kyle off again. We might then see some attacking threat on the right side, as our left hand side attack has come to life with LKT at 6 and Hamish at 12, who's to say Reed and Egan couldn't do the same?

Not fussed about Kerr, Leilua, Lawrie, I don't think any of them will see game time and fair enough too.

Reed still looked pretty rusty in cup, I think Nick T should get a run.

Seems all of Flanno's recruits belong in the latter category. Holmes has been good since teamed up with Stewart and LKT on that edge.

The speed, ball playing & tackle breaking ability of atko at fullback was tantalising. Hope he has another great game. I'm not fussed about his high bomb catching since he attacked the ball. He did well in that area imo. All fullbacks drop high balls, even the best ones like teddy, Edwards, ponga etc.

I think his biggest issue will be positioning and fitness but that only improves through gametime and experience.

Gutho has been, or was better with the rest of the backs since Atko was removed. Having said that, at this stage of their careers I think Atko has more upside as a fullback than Gutho. Needs a bit of time there to gain fitness, positioning, taking bombs. Hopefully he can chime into the backline a bit more as well.

it is all about seeing what he can do and fullback depth for next year.

Obviously Drinky is fullback number one but the depth there is out of the likes of Gutherson/Holmes/Atkinson/Sloan depending on what could be achieved if we were able to move on one of Kerr/Gutherson/Suli/Kyle.

That decision has a follow on for LKT and halves depth.

If for instance a world existed where Sloan were retained do we need to keep Atkinson? Is he an easier one to move out. We keep LKT as a cheaper halves cover, grab sloan and potentially get access to the market for a mid tier centre.

If Gutherson were to leave again keep sloan but grab a decent centre.

Despite what has been said Young is focussing on two things, avoiding the spoon and understanding our current squads capabilities with an eye to next year.

Hopefully Leilua comes in for Guler instead of Lawrie, way more X factor than blocker doing blocker things. Could be the difference between winning and losing.
