The hype of how fit we looked, and all the strength and conditioning, not to mention the new attitude that was going through the club. Atkinson talking it up at training etc, our juniors that were going to kill it, and here we are 0 - 5.

I didn't believe the hype. I said, if we can finish above 14th or 13th, that would have been a successful year.

I havent watched him that closely, but hes one of the guys I thought we should be after.. far more defensive effort in him than drinkwater, plenty of pace.. just being held out due to the hammer.. first grade experience, prob 300k less than Bula who would be 2027 firstly.....and is someone im actually not all that sure about, Bula is a funny cat and he would want 900k.. and he may choose to stay at a happy tigers club anyway.

As for Flanno, I mentioned this a while back.. he has been doing the same thing for the last 2 years, it worked from him before and he just keeps doubling down.. and again and again... the fact that he is not adapting to this faster more modern game... means he is unable to adapt because it makes no sense to him..... there is a logic divide between what he sees with his eyes and what he knows in his head.. it should work but it doesnt.... we need to put him out of his misery because he's not going to quit by himself.. but... we cant just replace him with another 'run hard tackle hard' coach, we need someone with some smarts with our gameplan and recruitment.. I'd love to do it this week against Manly because we head into harder games.

I remember a time when Billy Slater was out injured for several weeks and Melbourne went on a losing streak. In the after game press conference, when Bellamy was asked what the problem was, he said he had no answer. Bellamy, you know the best coach in the last 30 years or so had no answers. I am 100% serious too. Flanno was always going to be pushing shit up hill. Now it is an avalanche sliding back over him.

Dean Young is said to be a "coach in waiting". He is the red hot favourite to be our next coach, but he may not even want the job, as it would probably be coaching career suicide, like it has been for the last 4 coaches who coached us. He will probably want to wait until we have a roster that he thinks he can win with. Seriously, what young aspiring career coach would want to take the job as our coach? I don't think any would, beside maybe Dean Young or Ben Hornby. They were the only 2 "applicant's left if Flanno didn't take the job last time. I would take Hornby over Young. Just on a hunch.

He was our best player in the Charity Shield. With a genuine halfback, that would allow Acko to play his natural position in 5/8. We would look a different team with Reed halfback and Acko 5/8. We still need props, wingers, a fullback and centre as well.

To me their would be enormous pressure on Reed, because everyone would be expecting that he will fix everything. This team needs more than Reed to fix its issues.

I don't even watch the after game press conferences. The winning coach and captain usually look happy and content, while the losing ones often look disheveled, uncomfortable and don't have much to say. I don't even think the losers should have to attend the after game press conference, unless they have a gripe about referee's, touchie's or bunker decisions.

Same with the Grand Finals. The losing team should just go straight to the sheds and let the winners celebrate on their own.

It is almost like humiliation for the losing teams after the grand final or the after game press conference. There wasn't after game press conferences back in the 80's and 90's

As I said, I would have started with Reed at the beginning of the season. Halfback is the most important position on the field. We have been playing a player who isn't a halfback there all season and it hasn't worked. You could say there has been enormous pressure on Acko to perform what he isn't cut out to do. Then that has led to enormous pressure on Shane Flanagan and the rest of the team. Things could have been a lot different if Flanno played Reed at halfback to start the season and Acko 5/8.

Flanno was/is basically coaching for his career and picked his son, instead of the best halfback and prospect we have. It is a bit like having a Ferrari sitting in the garage and driving a dated Ford or Holden, because you didn't want to damage the Ferrari. Now he won't even have a chance to drive the Ferrari.

Sorry to break it to you petal, but your mate Shane signed him to play 7. Shane has trained him there all off season so Kyle could play 6. So I guess Shane has put all that pressure on himself.

Now if your mate Shane continues to play Daniel at 7 so Kyle can play 6 then the self inflicted pain ain’t going away any time soon

Fuller is actually a good idea in the short term I really rate him. He is X factor and we need that desperately.

I’m be been supporting the dragons since I was a kid in the 70’s! 1 time in out lives they seemed serious when the brought Bennett in and look how good we were!
Barely two years we had him and he decided to leave and we have been pathetic ever since!
Whoever owns the dragons uses them as a tax write off or something cause for sure the dint care about winning!
I haven’t even really watch the last few years cause we already know what’s going to happen!
Maybe a few times a year I’ll watch kayo mini and it’s always th same!
Last year one of the wingers (a big islander) celebrated cause he scored a try and did the “show me the money” thing, when we were losing by 20 or 30, and he is still in the team and still pathetic!
I don’t even know who this halfback is, THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION IN THE TEAM, which shows me that we have no money or no one decent will even come to us!
Is it money or do we still train in Wollongong and no Sydney people want to travel down?
Since Bennett left in 2011 name me one season we looked good!!
No decent players, never have good coaches, never seem to have money, never seem to be able to recruit, so my question is, if the owners haven’t cared for 15 years why should I?

As soon as I started watching an Easter Saturday game with lots of empty seats I thought “yep, nothing has changed since I watched years ago!
Sack the owner, sack the cei, sack the coach, sack the entire team except maybe that Stewart guy!
