This is the front office version of the St. George team that won all those premierships in a row.

To my knowledge it was mainly attributed to Frank Facer, who was then called the club Secretary, which is now called the CEO.

I haven’t heard good things about richardson behind the scenes + he’s not a GM of football

He’s been CEO + he’s had 2 court cases against him at 2 seperate clubs. If it was a one off then fair enough but there’s a pattern there that he’s a common denominator

Also on the board potentially scrapping the staff in the football department, hilarious that it’s gonna take a spoon for it to happen

So not finishing in the top 8 for 7 seasons in a row prior to this year wasn’t the breaking point?

There’s just no logic, it’s just a bunch of people on that board that only make big decisions when there’s huge outside noise/pressure

Also just seen from 4 different journos in SMH that we are closing in on Drinkwater and shifted the focus away from Bula aka Bula doesn’t want to come to us, he’d rather stay at tigs

We are about to sign Drinkwater for 3 years (should be 2) because we are absolutely desperate and have left ourselves cornered in the FB market

Drinkwater’s manager is going to absolutely pillage us or the bears and pit us in a bidding war

I don’t mind overpaying if it means it’s only a 2 year deal rather than 3

I agree we should only sign Drinkwater for 2 years max. 3 years could mean he is blocking Burton's path and taking up valuable salary cap.

That's the problem. The reason you grate seems everyone, including me the wrong way. You are a St. George fan who absolutely despises St. George Illawarra which you make obvious in almost every post. TBH, it annoys the f*ck out of me. But jodragon40 and I both agree to simply ban you is a bad move. There’s none, but it’ll give them time to contact potential coaches about interest in the job etc. plus consider a good interim option

I couldnt watch the press conference.. but Luciano has to move to the middle to get Halangahu and/or Egan and/or NickT in, I know hes been one of our best but doing the same thing over and over is insanity.. one of the only cards we have left are some extra 2nd rowers that are good enough to be there now.. and tbh if we keep letting Flanno coach for his job every week (i.e. every veteran on deck).. we will lose the best kids by end of year.. time to play em.

I’m certain it has already been addressed internally, J Justadragon. I expect the club has settled on a course of action and given Flanno until this weekend as the final opportunity to address the decline. I’d expect an interim coach to be named on Tuesday, with the longer‑term appointment handled quietly in the background ahead of 2027.
