Sack Flanno….

Club and probably most management outfits usually find it very hard to admit mistakes. I take that stance for granted.

Unless a side is genuinely competitive, there’s some serious questions to be asked about r&r and the decline of talent in the roster.

I think it’s a genuine question as to whether or not the new coach can improve the roster’s performances.

If he can, we will know Flanno had an adverse impact and his sacking was justified. If things get worse, it was knee jerk and to appease the coliseum.

I think coaches are limited by their rosters.

If I had a query for Flanno, could he have done anything more to ensure a better roster?

I do think Flanno actively avoided signing decent halves which would limit Kyle’s ability to play first grade.

That whole nepotism situation fucked him over from the start, he really shouldn’t have signed him at all to prevent the conversation from even happening
Yes, Kyle hasn’t delivered his top footy and it was distracting.

But he’s one of a number of players who talked themselves up but who have failed miserably.

They can say they’re sorry, but that’s pointless now.

All bets are off now as to who gets selected. All favours finished, they can all sing for their supper.

100%. Did he really try hard for Sandon Smith, Tanah Boyd. Try and get Hugo Savala over, even on loan?? Ilias wasn’t much chop, certain media push that barrow but how Jonah Glover never got a chance last year was crazy. He lead that cup side each week with Cody Ramsay and a couple of the young bulls up front

Broncos are paying most of Madden’s salary
There were options there

The way Shane carried himself by picking Kyle week after week was beyond the joke. Never once dropped to the bench let alone cup. Never a negative word against him. LKT, under the bus multiple times. Ilias, under the bus multiple times. Glover, never given an opportunity. Sullivan hello and goodbye. Never chased a 7 off contract. Top 3 players each week apparently.

When the dust settles I’d suggest Kyle should punch in Collegians Sporting Complex into his gps

That's what brought about his and the teams downfall. Kyle has steadily gotten worse from an already very low level.

Until Lids is back Kyle has to be in the 14 unless we promote Fagalilo.
Thought he was very impressive in the loss to the bunnies in Cup on the weekend ... good distribution both sides and at times the ball was so far in front of the reciver (in a good way) they seemed surprised that they were able to run onto it properly without stopping.

Disagree. Kyle has no place In first grade.

Flanno, like his predecessor, had not one bit of prudence. I still can't believe what he said about not having anyone better in reserve grade. I know I'm taking this follownig quote out of context (but that's the problem, this quote can easily be taken out of context and honestly should never have been said), saying that he's a 'father first' was never going to go down well with supporters of the club who were already disgruntled with him selecting his son despite numerous poor performances.

Now that its all said and done, imho is we wont see the bounce back that we usually get with clubs sacking their coach or should I say mutually released. I dont believe we have the players especially in the backline that can step it up, I'm still expecting a flogging on Anzac Day unfortunately.

DY still has a lot to prove as interim, after all his last gig as interim didn't prove very successful did it ?, maybe its a benefit to give him the interim job just so he can show that he's not up to being the HC. I'll be very surprized if the needle changes that much. It's still a long year lads !!
Yep.

It’s the most toxic of poisoned chalices any budding first grade coach could ever ask for.

The only redeeming feature is that it’s SGI and not some interstate club no-one really cares about.

For example, when the Storm win, milkshake sales always go up a bit.

Deano desperately wants to carve his way out from under Albert’s shadow. What a way to go!

What is out of context? That is what he said.

Normally I feel sorry for sacked coaches. I did for McGregor. He did the best he could. Less so for Griffin because his infatuation with his Broncos premiership winning U21s side from 10 years earlier was so annoying.

As for Flanno, he had something similar to Griffin but with only one player. That annoyed me but just this season first he said:
  • Dragons can't win the premiership this year.
(I'd call that just being realistic but experts were stunned by the comment and if we are being realistic, it was the team he has assembled.)

  • Don't have the cattle.
(What? He is saying the players he recruited or extended aren't any good? Must have pissed the players off no end. It would me. Notice there are no "feel good" stories about this or that player calling Flanno and apologising and no players coming out and blaming the playing group.)

  • There is no one better in NSW Cup.
(Despite them being equal first on the competition table? Must have pissed them off greatly. Probably pissed Willie Talau off as well.)
As a result, I don't feel a bit sorry for him.
