NEW Team:
  • Josh Addo-Carr (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs)
  • Nathan Cleary (Penrith Panthers)
  • Tyson Frizell (Newcastle Knights)
  • Payne Haas (Brisbane Broncos)
  • Nicho Hynes (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks)
  • Apisai Koroisau (Wests Tigers)
  • Jarome Luai (Penrith Panthers)
  • Liam Martin (Penrith Panthers)
  • Latrell Mitchell (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
  • Cameron Murray (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
  • Tevita Pangai Junior (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs)
  • Junior Paulo (Parramatta Eels)
  • James Tedesco (c) (Sydney Roosters)
  • Brian To’o (Penrith Panthers)
  • Tom Trbojevic (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles)
  • Isaah Yeo (Penrith Panthers)
  • Hudson Young (Canberra Raiders)
  • 18th player – Campbell Graham (South Sydney Rabbitohs)

Jake Trbojevic was forced to withdraw due to injury so Fittler picked Tevita Pangai Junior! JDB is paying the price for being a very good player in a very poor forward pack. Of course I want NSW to win but really, I won't be really disappointed if they lose, which I think they will.

Personally I would have gone with Ponga at #1 and3 or 4 and failing that, on the bench. But I think this team will still be good enough to comfortably account for Brad Fittler-led NSW.

No Dragons players in the NSW team again. Go QLD!!!
It really, honestly hurts me to say it but...... go QLD!

I wasn't really interested anyway. If JDB was playing, NSW would be much better. But I've had enough now. Don't want to watch QLD win easily.

No, no, no. They can't be allowed to get away with not picking JDB. Go QLD!!! And it brings me no joy to say that.
Totally with you, if Jack had've been on deck no way would our useless lot have been thrashed by so many. Footy scribes not even mentioning his name for Game 3. Fuckers the way he has been ostrasized, with his reputation being further tarnished.Jack was acquitted.

Even if the Blues win the third, those Canetoads will dominate the Kangaroos, tho, looking at their lineup, I guess they should as they are superior players.
Haas and Murray should be the only Blues forwards picked with Cleary, To'o, Moses, Tommy Turbo,Trell, perhaps Campbell, the only backs.

I think:
  1. Tedesco (only because he's captain and on reputation.)
  2. Coats
  3. Holmes
  4. Mitchell
  5. To'o
  6. Munster
  7. Cleary
  8. Haas

11 candidates emerge to replace Brad Fittler

  • Michael Maguire: Premiership-winning coach in both hemispheres. Would bring a no-nonsense, hard edge to the team.
  • Danny Buderus: Knows the NSW system and has a creative football brain. Widely respected within the Blues family. Offers a calm approach.
  • Trent Barrett: Coached Manly and Canterbury at NRL level. Achieved success as an attacking coach at Penrith and now Parramatta.
  • Andrew Johns: Brilliant rugby league brain who thinks left-field. Would bring some x-factor to the job and ensure the system was shaken up.
  • Matty Johns: Has an imaginative and inventive philosophy. Some suggest Johns is a rugby league visionary.
  • Laurie Daley: Knows the pressure and expectation. Produced one of the all-time great coaching achievements by snapping Queensland’s eight-year dynasty in 2014.
  • Ricky Stuart: Passionate, raw and hungry. Stuart has previously coached NSW and would have his side fired up and wound up.
  • Craig Bellamy: Arguably the greatest coach of his generation. Would implement a robust work ethic. Drives his players to reach the next level.
  • Geoff Toovey: Tenacious and fiery, Toovey is big on culture. Played with heart and coached with dedication.
  • Paul McGregor: Tactically astute and widely respected. Meticulous in his preparation and has a knockabout style which is attractive to players.
  • Phil Gould: Has there been a better NSW coach? Always several steps ahead tactically. Understands Origin and what it takes – on and off the field.
If Gus Gould is available, he's the one. Otherwise Toovey.
