Should be good with games on much later than usual.

Is believed the WARL will control the joint venture while the new club will wear the old Norths colors of red, black and white with a splash of yellow to replicate the old but not forgotten Western Reds the last club that played for WA at a national level.

Gosh 2027 seems so soon.. they will be straight into the marketplace.. hope they can pluck marquees out of the big clubs instead of raiding us.

As much as it pains me the NRL should let them poach contracted stars early instead of waiting for November 1st 2025.. its gonna be pretty hard otherwise to put an entire roster together.

Looks like Perth are going to be next in line after PNG. Suprising but I guess if money from the government is pouring in, that is the NRL getting paid by AFL and Rugby Aus, it can't be a bad thing.
The Perth bid should reject any partnership with the bears. Losing is a tradition for them.

NRL powerbrokers are reportedly set to scrap plans to expand into Perth as negotiations with the West Australian government coming to a standstill. That is according to Code Sports, who are reporting the development comes as a fresh blow in the North Sydney Bears’ push for a first grade return.

A Perth Bears franchise was reportedly in line to enter the NRL in 2027, but their expansion bid is reportedly set to fall flat after criticism of WA premier Roger Cook. Cook was reportedly preparing to invest over $300 million in a bid to have a Western Australian NRL franchise, but those plans have come under fire.

Meanwhile, NRL powerbrokers also hold concerns regarding the AFL’s stranglehold on the state, with two teams located there in the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers.

Maybe a second NZ team is a better option. Somewhere which won't be a drain on the talent pool. I can recommend Kyle Flanangan as an excellent first signing for them.
