Round 2 v South Sydney Rabbitohs - Sat 3pm

Lawrie should be in. I was critical of him last year but due to the dire shortage of props, I think he's a logical pick. Feagai on the other hand is just bizarre. How can he play that badly and have played badly consistently for 2 years, and still get selected ahead of Sloan or Finau?

Feagai was catching bombs from Burton who had no kick pressure, Sloan would've been driven back to Wollongong under that barrage. Finau is playing left wing, he's a good shout but got concussed at the wrong time. Feagai was solid in the trials & it would send the wrong message to the playing group getting dropped after 1 game. I'd prefer it if they put Finau at right wing in NSW cup & Sloan left wing.

Sloan as a winger in 1st grade right now is nuts to me.

I know I'm probably going to be sin binned by some users for this comment but it is a public forum so I'm just going to say it. And is no criticism of any and for the top 2, it's based on talent for playing wing. Not what they have done so far. Simply put, I think one of the 5 has played very well for a while but I think he's too slow to be a really good winger. The others can become really good wingers.

Best wingers the Dragons have on the books now go in this order:
  1. Finau
  2. Lawson
  3. CT
  4. Sloan
  5. Feagai
Some may disagree with you but this forum is one of the better ones. Everyone should feel free to air their opinions as long as it doesn't become personal or unacceptable language is used directed at any forum member.

I miss the good old days where if we disagreed with each other and got personal we went out the back of the clubhouse and sorted it out. Then win, lose or draw have a few beers. Alas these days we have far too many people who vilify people sitting behind a keyboard and in the safety of their own home.

On current form swap 2 and 3 around. Otherwise I would suggest you are right

Agree I never dropped a player based on 1 performance.

Need a better collective effort to win through better line speed, kick pressure & awareness in attack. Liddle should be better for the run, hopefully more minutes & our new players should have better combinations too. Should be a hot arvo game, so fitness will come into it.

Were the inside players annoyed with Feagai over something that went down at training. They just sat back and allowed Burton all the time in the world to lob those massive bombs down on him all afternoon. I don't blame him for those mistakes. But I still would have went with Finau because he's better in other areas of the game.

Agree about the way there was no kick pressure on Burton but disagree about the message it sends to the playing group. Incumbents can't and shouldn't expect to keep their spots if someone in the lower grades is better. That's what I think anyway. I think that's the way Bellamy operates. He has no issue at all dropping big name incumbents for young players no one has heard of.

I dont effing well believe that Flanno has picked Feagai after his shocker last week. Losing respect for you coach. Emre beats the judiciary, good for him as it is Ramadan. Besides other than Jack he was our most consistent forward in the trials.

Every area. Bloody joke, MF shud never have been extended. Finau has had a two year apprenticeship so is now ready for top grade. He has played on both wings in Ressies.

Agree Lawrie is akin to the last prop standing. I personally believe that he will have a big one off the bench for us. If the reports are correct and he has trimmed down then we may see the best of him.
Yes give Blocka the benefit of the doubt until we see how he fronts up. I know he will always give 100% for his beloved RedV..

I aint sin binning you, tho I have CT ahead of Lawson as the yawnion convert is still on training wheels, witnessed by his poor positioning in defense and lack of game awareness. Sloan is too impatient to be on the wing, gets itchy feet when he dont have his hands on the ball, clearly on display last week in two major plays, one positive one negative. Flanno is squeezing out Sloan. ESL may be his future.

this is as winnable as anyone else we could be facing.
Not with the liability on our rt wing. With Finau there be far more confident as we all saw the dangerous combo he and Holmes formed in Mudgee. Rabbits had no answer. Didnt Flanno. Am dumb founded he has not acted on this.

Maybe Sloan just isn't tough enough to play NRL. Has all the talent in the world but after all this time, still surrenders in tackles far too easily and his defence might have improved from a joke to bad.

Can we afford for him to put in another shocker like that. Definitely not. If so we are 2-nil down to start the season. Betting Rabbits are thinking bloody pleased they have not picked Finau as he and Holmes hurt us bad in CS.
