Round 13 v Newcastle

Yes to Reed but not this year. Way too early.
That is why it is a gamble. Flegg has lifted since he joined them. Jeez we have to do something to bring solid structure to our attack or we are headed for another poor season. Who is this half we are supposed to be talking to?

Lost by one point to the team second on the ladder, beat the pre-season favourites last week. Since LKT was promoted team has been better. I agree with better halves would be going better still but it is what it is. Reed was playing U19s just a few weeks ago. To throw him into first grade now would be counter productive. Have to make do with KF, Ilias and LKT this year.

A short break for him. Anyway hope sufficient to recharge his motor. He makes our bench very solid alongside LPT. Bout time Flanno saw sense and started with Jack.

No way. The guy lacks vision and the ability to think on his feet. The Knights will show him up for his lack of footy nouse. LKT is gonna have to take on the line more, back himself. Just as well they aint going well either, but if Ponga backs up they are dangerous..
Toby was injured. Wasn't about giving him a break. But hopefully picks up where he left off.

Hopefully Ponga is rested, but my big fear last week was Fletcher Sharpe would get the fullback jersey and unlock Newcastle, and it very much happened.. but its still a very winnable game regardless...

What you have to know and understand is that when Ponga is playing fb at training and during the games the Knights set up their plays for Ponga.

Last week no Ponga and low and behold their structures changed or were slightly modified and they put the cleaners through an understrength Panthers.

Every coach who has a $1m attacking player in their team are always going to try and involve that player in every attacking structure.

Hope he does back up because you watch the Knights go back to where Ponga is standing either side of the ruck or wrapping from 1 side to the other in their structured attacks.

I doubt Val will play. He didn't have a good game but did a lot of hard work. 3 or 4 days rest and he would've been a chance but 2 days? I don't think so. Luckily the same will surely apply to Ponga.

It has been identified by those origin players that they would rather back up 2 days later than 4 days later. Holmes didn't over exert himself.

Only the origin coach knows why he was wearing the 5 and Hammer the 4, that helped us greatly achieve a satisfying victory on the enemy's own turf.

Hopefully he backs up because that's a big mismatch with his opposite number.

I’d prefer ponga to backup off 48 hrs rest rather than have a fresh Fletcher sharpe at fullback

I say it every week that the games a must win but when we play teams that aren’t in the top 8 and at Kogarah we have to win, newy on a 6 day turnaround and us off the bye with 2 weeks to prepare

No excuses

This guy can potentially replace Lomax , big fast and competes ........ Just on Lomax how the F**K did they let him go ........ The club had big raps on him , and just as he was to filling that potential, they let him walk .......
I'm really sick of this narrative that anytime a decent player leaves a club it's "the club letting him go", it simply isn't the case. If a player wants to leave they will absolutely keep agitating for a release until they either get what they want or it becomes untenable for the club to keep them, the agents have so much power these days (ie. Hunt, Lomax, Molo etc). Im sure its exagerated to an extent but it came out he'd asked for a release like 6 times over a 12 month plus period, he had clearly made up his mind and it wasn't gonna change. And really at the end of the day credit to him cause he still busted his arse all year for us so as a fan I can't begrudge him for wanting a fresh start, clubs do the same thing when it suits them so until the contract sagas get resolved nothing will change.
