Other way round old mate. Ryan had the ACL, Toby was close to our best player before his season ending shoulder injury. Likewise I am excited at what these two will bring to the table being a year older, bigger, fitter and if they can stay injury free.

Su'A, Egan. Couchmans are a bit too skilful to be mere enforcers but they could do it.
I'm going against the grain and saying we are ok for the forwards. I know it could be better but what team couldn't be better? Need good and fast wingers. A pair of them. And need one of the 30 to be told to f*ck off so the coach can't be tempted to shoe-horn him into the 17.

I believe we have a lot but Dan Anderson is doing the right thing. Not just throwing overs at whoever is on the market, Luciano Leilua, Gular, Klemmer for example, but only going after the right players.

If you operate how we have previously you end up with Corey Norman/Luciano Leilua on 800k.
Their managers deserve a knighthood for getting them that sort of coin from us when they were clearly not that level of player
Fortunately guys like the Couchman bro’s/Hamish/Egan for the next 2 years or so will be on less coin than than their good performances warrant

We literally have to spend the salary cap.. you have to take a gamble on someone.. literally noone is a guarantee (no matter how good they are.. and the better they are the more the cash), but doesnt mean we sign more reserve graders on overs to try and fill the gap.
What I find surprising is how many high paid marquees most clubs have.. and how few we do.. I get that the spread is a bit more even between our top 17 and the remaining 13.. but there is absolutely room for a couple more marquees in our cap.

Just me I know we need a topline forward , but for me it won't make much difference if we don't have a topline 7 that can control a game ........ With a Tino for instance , would Kyle and our current 6 be able to setup a win for us , with smart plays and a good kicking game ........ I say no ........

Can we as a once great club ever be one of the favourites to be in the grand final? How many years has it been that the so called know alls have nominated the Dragons to be wooden spooners or way down the ladder? Bearing those opinions in mind, its no wonder that any better than good player baulks at signing with us particularly if those players see that our chances of winning a premiership are long odds and there reasons, besides getting good bucks, is to win a premiership.
Here we have had Ben Hunt who for the dollars we paid him did not get us into the upper echelons of the league table, and a year before he left, he whinged about not wanting to be at the Dragons for several reasons one of them being that he wanted to be at a club that could win a premiership and so he left us and as we know, he won a premiership after he left us. Such a bad advertisement for us.
Our recruitment has been disastrous over so many years it is not funny. For so many years we have signed duds and Justadragon has created a Thread to cover this so I'll say no more as this is the R and R Thread. So come on Ando, Flanno, Deano, Enno etc. make sure that we get at least one good signing for the position we need to bolster and hope that we get into the top 8 in 2026 with then the ability to sign more good players, if needed (hoping that our crop of young guns will kill it and therefore no real need to sign any alpha players as I hope we have them come the end of 2026).
You know what guys, we might be seeing other clubs signing players left, right and centre and we have only signed a couple but maybe that's all we need and we should have faith in the players we have coming through just as maybe Ando and Flanno can see with sincerity.

Front-load the contracts of all the young players. Or is it back-load? Pay a much larger % of their contracts now so can pay them less next year.

The young blokes that were blooded this year we will and they will be better for it , discarding injuries , but still cant get my head around not having a game managing 7 ....... Some teams have 2 or more at this stage we have zero ...... Is this going to be coach Flannos downfall , or is there a player from left field that they have in mind ? ....... Anyway I hope they know what they are doing .......

According to Zero Tackle, Kade Reed is top 30 next year. I thought he was going to be on a development contract. It's probably just a mistake. But he's surely a good chance to make his debut at some point next year barring injury.
CEO said Atkinson was going to be halfback. He might go ok. A bit like Ben Hornby.

I think we are already doing that, but we cant just keep frontloading year on year, we will need to spend some cash.. I assume we have a fallback option or 2 in mind.. but its a tricky game trying to juggle multiple targets at once as Plan A, B and C, while other clubs do the same.
