Seems to me LKT has been underrated for a while. His long kicking is bad and defence needs a lot of improvement but in regard to defence, those either side of him didn't help him much in that Cowboys game in particular.
Defence is about attitude when one gets to first grade level. LKT's can and I bet will improve a lot. Other than that, like almost every other team, the halfback is supposed to do the bulk of the long kicking.
In attack, with the better forward pack with better line-speed and getting a bit better roll-on with ball in hand, I'm betting LKT is going to be really good.

So lets say this time next year a 21 year-old winger who might or might not be in the top 30 is definitely going to make it. No chance of him not. I disagree but that's just me. I think the jury will be out on it. Specially with our current first choice wingers, I'd say he needs to force his way into first grade next season for people to be very confident about him. Not only for a couple of games if or when we are out of contention in the last few weeks.
I don't care if people disagee with me but Jake Stockwell, Beau Henry, Drew Hutchison, Jackson Shereb, Josh Coric, Evander Cummings say hello.

Dead set I think all of them will get a go at some stage. We know that LKT and KF doesn’t work don’t know about Atkinson and KF nor Atkinson And LKT.

Jesse Williams won't play NRL next year in my opinion i think 2027/28 he is more of a chance, he may even struggle to play KOE cup, depending on the final outcome of our top squad and KOE squad, he may start in Jersey Flegg and hopefully force his way into KOE cup
Who are these people that need him to force his way into first grade to be very confident about him??
Not sure what all those players you mentioned are relevant to whether Jesse makes 1st grade next year or not..

Very good in lower grades, Dragons fans were very upbeat about them. None of them turned any good.
For outside backs, almost all of the good ones have had a decent amount of first grade by the time they are early 20s.
For forwards it's usually a bit later. Like outside backs typically debut between 19-21 and forwards 21-23.

If he agreed to meet with DA but refused to consider the offer....... what else could it be? Was just after a free steak? I can only guess his manager said, we want $******** a year and DA said something like, "Sorry. We will only offer (15% less)." And that was that.

So Anderson openly wined and dined this big lug and his manager to try and secure his services for 5 years? Weird that Anderson didn't keep things behind closed doors? I wouldn't bother trying to get him. Wayne doesn't want to over spend on him to keep him at Souths so if Wayne doesn't re-sign him at an acceptable figure, why should we? We don't want players coming just to take the money like some other player we had high hopes of giving us value for money.

Salvation lies within. LPT is our big, aggressive prop. Couchman's are our skillful props who get through a lot of work and play a lot of minutes. Halangahu and/or Nick T is our line breaking edge back rower. Reed and LKT or Hammoud or in a bit longer, Ah Kee are our gun halves. Buchanan and Heidke centres. Burton our fullback replacing Gutho in a year or 2. There is no other option or so it seems.

100%Eric, if this was the AFL we would all know what the offer was and why he didn’t take it. Let’s just move on with our juniors shall we and stick it to the rest of the comp. If this isn’t motivation for our young guns then I don’t know what is.

Spot on mate, look at the teams who have been successful/consistently in the top 4
They’ve all pretty much developed the talent bar 2-3 players in their lineup
Panthers/Storm/Canberra/Sharks/Broncos have a huge number of ‘homegrown’ players in their lineup
DA is a smart man, he’ll know this. Being a part of that roosters set up they recruit the best young talent which develops into star NRL players ala Walker/Toia/Whyte etc.
