Fox scribes saying today could be a " Dragons bloodbath" for us and are calling Dean Youngs task of turning round our deplorable season start to "rugby leagues version of a poisoned chalice''. Then this 17 will have to show that we aint gonna hand the game to the Chooks on a plate by drawing on some of that Anzac and RedV spirit. And we have some guys from the class of 2005, namely our quality centre pairing of Marc Gasnier and Matt Cooper backing us to the hilt. The 2005 boys were staring down a season start similar to ours, but helped by some inner Dragons spirit they won the Anzac Day clash which then led to them winning 15 of their next 20 to then have a crack at the prelim final, which they lost...

We have got to find that inner strength to keep fighting all the way through the match today RVH. I just hope that if we lose, it will only be by say 10 points rather than a complete shellacking. If we win though, wow, that would be fan bloody tastic.🤞🙏

Hahaha!. The good old radio. Remember those things when we had no TV coverage like we have today and listened to Tiger Black, Frank Hyde, Greg Hartley and Peter Peters, David Thirsty Morrow with Warren Ryan, Warren Boland, Peter Wilkin's commentary. Had to use imagery of the players taking the ball up and the tough tackles and the goal conversions - described by Frank. The good old days.

My transistor radios copped a beating especially if the Dragons were losing.

I guess there would be some people turning off the TV commentary and listen to the guy calling the game on the radio.

Go the Dragons today - win it for us please.

Frank Hyde 2SM, If it long enough, if its straight enough, its right over the black dot. St George 2 - Easts 0 , Langlands the kicker.

Then when we win which was quite often back in the 70s, they played our victory song. And no its wasn't Oh when the Saints come marching in, it was,:

We are the St George boys,
We had a win today,
We are the boys you know of,
Who show them how to play,
No matter where you be,
The red and white you'll see,
Now aren't we a wonderful credit,
To our locality!

Ah wonderful memories
