The starting middles were bad the starting back 5 worse ….
Couchman boys, Stewart and Cookie can holds their heads up. Reed, good to see him get his first game out of the way, LPT laziness cost him a good debut try. Young said Reed will be the 7 vs Newcastle.I didn't get to watch the game today, I had work commitments, I'm glad I didn't. I dont blame DY for any of it , its all on the players, it was a horrible, awful disgusting embarrassing performance. 3 years of embarrassment now, enough is enough. The Dragons dont know how to win anything anymore, you have accepted the standard of being a bunch of losers, you showed no resilience, no fight no spirit in the manner of the day. These players really need a cold hard look at themselves, you should be totally ashamed of picking up your paycheck. I'm not going to pick players out, one in all in, you are a team. Anyway 0 - 8, what a complete and utter rabble you are !!!!
Sure we’re. I’d be putting Egan and Nick T in the 17 over the next few weeks and slowly phasing out Lawrie, Kerr. Push Su’a and/or Luc up front when they come on. No use sticking with the same dead wood week after week. Get some minutes into the young blokes who will be there in 2027Kerr Guler lawrie all a bit meh
Well his laziness cost Reed his debut try, and I believe it also led to a soft roosters try.. that's 12pts.. that's quite a negative impact for a bench forward to be making.LPT laziness cost him a good debut try.
Actually I might reword my take on LPT stopping in the line to cost Reed his try. I’d rather say he should be more aware to continue to push through the defensive line a couple more meters. Don’t want to hang the young fella by his knackers. 3 or 4 more steps and that’s a try every day of the week. Learning experience for the young man moving forwardWell his laziness cost Reed his debut try, and I believe it also led to a soft roosters try.. that's 12pts.. that's quite a negative impact for a bench forward to be making.
Puts the coach in quite a position.. ultimately id rather just back LPT (and Halangahu) and try to get that stuff out of his game.. but this is probably the sort of issue Flanno had with him... but I dont think Lawrie or Guler should be locked into the squad.. Wouldnt mind seeing a bit more of Halangahu also, but this is what sux about losing momentum in the current game.. Jacob had 14mins, 1run for 3m.. he made 5 tackles with 1 miss.. would like to see more of him than that.
This btw is exactly why the NRL were trying to change the kick-off rule before the season.. to try and stop games from blowing out with set after set in defence.
Agree, but we call out the same players every week mate, the team has now developed a losing mentality, As far as I can see we are just going through the motions. If you couldn't get yourself up for that game especially after the week we have had, then you never will. DY said it in his PC, he asked them how they feel after an embarrassing performance. We as members and supporters deserve way better than this garbage week after week, its starting to become a real piss take now, especially on Anzac Day.Couchman boys, Stewart and Cookie can holds their heads up. Reed, good to see him get his first game out of the way, LPT laziness cost him a good debut try. Young said Reed will be the 7 vs Newcastle.
Egan has been named in cup for tomorrow’s game and Nick is back vs Newcastle. These back 3 dramas are killing us. Maybe not straight away but do we think maybe Nick plays centre and Val on the wing?? Does Buchanan get a look in??I don't want to rush Egan nor Nick T back but we might not have a choice. How was Ryan on the edge?
Flanno didn't cause this mess. It was a mess when he took over. He wasn't able to fix the mess. Next year we should be stronger, no matter who the coach is.He caused all this mess. It's been 6 days since he was sacked, it will take a long long time to undo all the shit he done to the club.
I laughed at your comment that Dean Young could be the first interim coach to be sacked. Classic. lolAgreed. From what I saw, only a handful of the players who played today are worthy of being retained. Woeful backs, most forwards are not tough and resilient enough. No-one with any class or brilliance unfortunately. Just a good second reserve grade side is all at the moment and we already have those players waiting to play tomorrow.
I cannot see how Young can hold onto this interim head coaching role let alone being a full time head coach of the future. He could be the first interim to be sacked in my opinion. Yes, it is his first game as HC again I know and that he should be given plenty more games, but how many more?
The second one definitely shouldn't have been a sin binYoung will have to go better than that ! But G Atkins decided that game early with two ridiculous sin bins. It is a lot easier to attack when you have a player advantage.
Disagree. He had multiple full pre seasons to shape our team and this is the end result. He has sent us back years because of his stubborn attitude and shit coaching. We should have never signed someone with such little integrityFlanno didn't cause this mess. It was a mess when he took over. He wasn't able to fix the mess. Next year we should be stronger, no matter who the coach is.
He has potential. I like the energy and enthusiasm he brings to his play. Perhaps trying too hard to impress. I say persevere with him for a while until we have some one better to call on. Getting rid of Sione Finau was a bad move. Unlike our useless former coach, his new one Stuart has given him the comfort of three yrs with the Raiders. Severio Tamale also. That pair knew each others game and worked well together in Ressies for us. Only needed a chance at the top grade which Flanagan did not afford them.. Thank Christ he has gone...Cause if its just the big stage, maybe it settles down with a few more games.. he seems like such a gentle simple guy, maybe its a mental thing we can fix.
Agree. Most off contract with no certainty of a future in the game and are playing accordingly. Reluctant re Blocker, but saving judgement on Lawrie, Holmes and Suli for the time being. Holmes is better than he has been showing. He is our top money earner and prob thinks he is letting down the side by not playing up to his salary standard. Deano should demote the rest to finish their remaining time in Ressies, even Flegg that sure could use some big bodies, like Kerr and Guler.Sloan

Luch has been among our best all season and deserves an extension. He has been a specialist edgie his entire career, but if Deano is desperate for some mid field impact because we cant buy someone of similar size and ability, then he'd be a fine starting middle.Luc up front when they come on. No use sticking with the same dead wood week after week.
Yep, good, but i would remove luch from that list.Toby, Ryan, Hamish, Luch, Jacob, Kade, Loko, Jake, KK, Drinky, Sami, is the nucleus of a team that can start that journey David. Missed any? We need two/three quality outside backs and a further bookend to complete the full package..
