You’re spot on, J Justadragon. The whole club approaches each game expecting a loss. Until the playing group breaks that mindset, and I don’t see how that happens right now, nothing changes.

The mental state of the players is very fragile.
Losing becomes a habit.
They lack resilience, but it was only 12-4 before the ref binned 2 of our players.
We beat ourselves.
The number of mistakes was mind boggling
Players make mistakes. We can’t blame Dean Young for the soft defence and lack of speed out wide.
My main reservation about Dean is that he has been the defensive coach since he returned to the club.
Have no problem with Dean being appointed as interim coach. He genuinely cares but I am concerned he isn’t a first grade coach. I hope he proves me wrong.
The current 6again rule has changed the game altogether.
Don’t like it.
The backline is poor and requires change.
Drinkwater and Sami will add elusiveness and speed.
Holmes is either injured or has clocked off.
Reed is the future. We could easily have scored a couple more tries thanks to his speed and the great cut out pass.
The forwards need 1 or 2 hard heads.
KK will add some starch to the pack. The young guys need to play to develop into first graders.
We will be much better after the bye.

Too many are not making one on one tackles. Straight line defence is missing. It was once a locks job to sweep across the backs just in case. Raper was the best I saw.Now we have a forward stationed out there but the line still fails. This defect must be cleaned up. Not hard. Who runs the forwards? Position vacant Dean.
Sloan was cooked two years ago. Give Peckham-Harris from cup a run.
Sloan isn't first grade material. Some of his attempts at tackle are Hollywood.

Exactly this the game has changed , this is why we can't score points ....... You need players like Duff , Drinkwater , yep may not be the best defenders but if the rest of the team are doing their job they don't need to be the best defenders ........ Our so called defenders don't score tries either so if you have a team of supposed defenders then the team has no points in them ........ Things need to change need attackers speedsters and defenders need to get the balance right .........

What struck me at the game yesterday just how much faster the game is these days even from last year.
Some of the boys were deep breathing after 15 min yesterday and physically they all looked fitter than last year.
If you make a mistake in today's game expect to be punished.

Well Kade proved why he should be in the team and make a huge difference. Our first try disallowed because of Sloan's half hearted hand was a wonderful floating pass from Kade to Setu. At the end what would have been another great try from Kade was disallowed because of Loko stupidly stopping in the defence line. ....... yes these are a couple of dumb dumb things we make every week, most of this because of a lack of thinking or confidence.

ATKINSON HAS HAD AMPLE TIME TO PROVE HIMSELF AND HAS FAILED! He has no skill, vision or imagination and must have cement for legs because he wont take on the line either. In short like DD says he has no magic. I can see why the Shonkies shafted him willingly. Another Flanagan dud so back down the grade slippery dip and up it for LKT who in my view is on the improve now with some ball in hand skill, a good chip and can nail his man one on one most times. Only downside is he is no rabbit and rarely splits the line. Only other candidate for mine is Shadi Hammoud, giving us prob the comps smallest halves combo..

There are three Ressie forwards that I am promoting now, one definite is Jake Webster because I believe he is now sufficiently schooled having been in our lower grades for yonks and we need a Gurer replacement. He is the comps biggest post contact metre eater too. Others are Hutchinson and Coutts, if room in our 17.

Is Toby sufficiently bulky at 102kg to survive a full season in the engine room cauldron. His lean body must be taking an awful pounding from opposition big boppers week in week out. Could use another min 5kgs on his frame as being the most vital component in our pack we dont want him losing valuable game time when we most need him.
