Malokai Tomo
A centre who played Laurie Daley Cup this season and will play SG Ball next season.
I've been told he has really stepped it up this year playing in the Group 7 under 18 comp. 19 tries in 12 games.

Watching the highlights of Jersey Flegg, our Nos 4 Tomo? Looked very good in his scoring the try. Anybody know anything about him?

A bit of previous information about Malo plus a highlights reel

I remember we were really excited for Tomo last year in the Steelers SG Ball squad.. we thought we would be a star ctr.. but even when there were injuries to Timmins and Heidke I do recall us playing him on the wing.. it wasnt the big year we had hoped in any case.... but loved seeing his name in the Flegg team, there is a player in there and lets hope he keeps getting better..

Talking about young centres, what did happen to Zane Timmins, I assume he is still in the system? The other one whos a bit younger is Destin Tausala, absolute wrecking ball in attack, but just at the back end he got caught out a few times in defence.. but like 'really' caught out, keen to see what becomes of him next year, if its something that needs development or its a speed issue.. but he doesnt seem slow..

Malo certainly has the speed and skill, some players take a bit longer to develop on the commitment fitness side.

Zane did his hammy again in his comeback (last round of SGB) we won't see him for a long while.

I'm more interested in Meafou, Treweek & Stanley Trail. Meafou was a weapon in SG and after his ACL hasnt looked the same
  • DMeafou has had a few games straight now uninjured.. we've been waiting ages for that.. even though he has a few moments.. hes certainly not standing out.. I didnt watch Flegg (I have barely watched it all year) but CMeafou got moved up also... hes just turned 18 so super young.

  • Treweek is a funny one cause I sort of just assumed he wouldnt make it because there was too many in front.. but if Sua/Leilua go, Halangahu potentially plays middle.. CST is still TBD with position and development.. maybe there is a path for him.. I was a bit confused by his body this season, like he has a lot more weight on his torso.. maybe just getting older or muscle.. dunno.. thought maybe it wasnt good weight.. but if anything he has played better this season.. so who knows..

  • CST def hasnt come on 'as fast' as we had hoped, rly thought he was on the absolute heels of LPT/Latu/Halangahu, his first game of cup last year he was so good... but since then I dunno sort of flows in and out of games.. got a good body I think for either middle or edge whatever it ends up being.. normally its fine to take a little bit more time, its more than fine.. only thing is I think he is Top30 next year.. which puts pressure on our squad.... I think Weatherall is also Top30 and still rly struggling.. its so tricky to time these jr contracts...

One more from me actually, Hikila - runs 100% every time and has the little goose step, slow play the ball but generally always finds his front.

Daniel has looked very average ,possibly his injures have set him back.
On field he looks unfit walking and taking 3 4 tackles to get back on side.
He needs a big lift.

JT is a big boy not sure what happens there, I would class him as a slow burner.

Cyrus is loosing his puppy fat and looks really cut now, broad shoulders, got skills late footwork ball playing. Would probably be the most natural talented of all of local forwards.

Vili is small and just behind the other SG boys but he just keeps stepping up.
Unfortunately with his size I don't see him progressing past Cup player.

Which of our hookers has the potential to play 1st grade soon or be 1st graders, since we r so dry on this position

Isaiah fagalilo?
Mason Phillips?

then Ryland Coelho and Asher Chapman are obviously killing it but there a little young

I think its between Fagalilo and HFinau.. feel like Haele is more of ur impact hooker.. great off the bench, hes fast like a back... Fagalilo maybe a more traditional hooker.. I have no idea how to assess them for first grade though.. its a big jump.. compared to guys like Liddle and Cook..

I saw Phillips on the Flegg bench which was cool, scored a try on the bell, not sure how he compares to Dextar Grant who is in front of him...

I started this thread for anyone that has questions about any of our pathways players from Andrew Johns Cup to NSW Cup
I think 99% of my time on this site will be in this thread lol

Plenty to like coming through

What had you made of the Papualii’s from what you’ve seen so far Mug and Rev?

I didn’t watch St George pathways much but every week I’d look at results and Cornelius had a try or brace it felt like.

Think he ends up wing or centre?

I've been rly lazy not watching the dragons side of the lower grades.. was hoping to see the penrith twins pop up in Flegg soon, though the team is doing well no one is a guarantee of selection... Burton too hopefully.. maybe a break for his injury would be advised.. assume he will take Borgs spot at some stage....
