Recruitment & Retention 2027

Ai it could be specifically the board... but we have no way to replace them.. and I think with the right coach, and if Creagh turns out to be rly good in his GM role.. we're leagues in front of where we were.... and I assume the TPA's are available now given the signings we have been making... so I think there is a chance the club can get to where it needs to go... regardless of who's on the board..

Essentially I don't think its fair for Anasta to keep taking his Ilias-based pot shots anymore, its almost a clean sweep in every other area of the club.
Considering Illias has been dropped to ressies with the highly successful Titans franchise I believe that Anasta really shouldn't be saying anything about our club or previous coach

From Webby wahs coach,

“I don’t know if he’ll [Metcalf] be available for selection next week, but he’s available for the rest of the year,’’ Webster said.

“We’ve just got to tidy up his contract, and he hasn’t trained.

“He hasn’t done one rep of footy, because of the bye, and because of this whole contract negotiation, for the last, probably, two weeks, so we need to get him back doing reps, because we don’t want to throw him back in and then he gets an injury, but he’s eligible for selection as soon as he’s fit and ready to go, and [has] done football.

“He’s been running, he’s fit, but he hasn’t done any football drills at all.’’

He isn't coming this year, fair enough. It gives us time to figure out who should partner him in the halves next year. Hopefully LKT will get legitimate chances in the halves this year.

Honestly, Atkinson has been worse than LKT was last year. I certainly hope he plays much better going forward but I don't get how so many are just assuming Atkinson is going to partner Metcalf in the halves next year.

But the most important thing is they both get a lot of chances to push their claims this year so the best possible team is ready come round 1 next year.

I guess there is a realisation that he is the square peg in our dragons round hole this year and cannot settle into any routine/pattern esp with Kyle.
I think he was also a square peg in the Sharks' round hole Rufus. Sharks were happy to release him and Flanno was rubbing his hands with glee.

I guess people are seeing that Atkinson has (for the most part) been playing alongside Kyle in the halves (which is akin to playing with a ball and chain and one arm tied period your back) and assuming that his performance could be better alongside a halves partner who provides a higher contribution than Kyle.

Although the same is true for LKT also.

It may be though that both Atko and LKT (…and possibly even Kyle) need a better coach to unlock their potential and get them combining with Metcalf and performing at an elite level.

Good answer. It's been obvious for a while playing with Kyle is a giant handicap.

Both LKT and Atkinson have borne the brunt of that but Atkinson should be in his prime now. At the top of his game. LKT is probably still a year or two away.
