Kyle Flanagan & the coach

Ok, I haven’t been one to bash Kyle and/or Shane but after tonight I think there needs to be some change. We are the most conservative team in the comp by an absolute mile and in today’s game that is just not going to win games. This is led by Kyle who is the definition of conservative. We need to get some flare in us. And as for Shane, well I think we need to start asking serious questions about promoting Talau. Each team I’ve seen of his through the past few years they have looked dynamite. He seems to have a great relationship with all our young guns and he’s a modern day coach.

I've laid off him as well but after today, he's gotta go. Cooper Cronk was roasting our halves in the period they were down to 12.

He ain’t going anywhere. He’ll be there next week and that’s that. No use even entertaining the idea of anything else. Not that I agree with my comment but we all know that will be the case.

Kyle will be selected if he is available for as long as Flanno is the coach. We may as well accept it.

I'm gonna give Flanno a wrap. He'll go down in flames before he drops KF and that's that. It takes guts. Pissing off everyone, bringing ridicule on himself and bringing about his own demise as coach but he still won't budge.

Gutho is getting a bit of flak and rightly so but he's being called on to do too much. He's the fullback and playmaker to make up for Kyle. If Flanno wants him to play like a 5/8, move him to 5/8 FFS.

Todays game was a pivitol moment in our season and look what happened, and to compare us to the 2016 Sharks side is simply absurd. We looked like a complete rabble at times to a team that didn't even play well themselves.
So, I'm even a bit pissed at Ennis who is the attacking coach witnessing our game style, is he being harnessed by Flanno ? Come to the fact we haven't won a game in 2 months, we are already second last on the table with the possibility of being last next week. What is KK going to do next year with that game style, he'll just be a battering ram. So yeah give Arthur a shot how much worse could it get.

I know it's hypothetical but I'm going to say, if LKT was the 5/8 yesterday and Kyle was a reserve for the reserve grade team, Shadi Hammoud 5/8, we would have still won reserve grade easily as we did and would have won first grade comfortably as well.

We are 1 player away from being a 12 point better team. Still won't beat Melbourne or Penrith and a few other better teams, at least not at full strength, but would account for teams like Parra yesterday. The forwards created enough opportunities for at least 5 more tries.

Look its not KF's fault, its Flanno for consistently picking him and what's more putting him on a pedestal. Both pressure on KF and moreso himself, will be his demise and its starting.

Agree. It's not a Kyle problem. It's a Shane problem. Also, picking Kyle is not Shane's only shortfall as a coach.

Kyle knows full well he is only in the team, was only signed at all because his dad is head coach. He could do his dad a big favour and stand down. By now he must know it won't do the family any good if his dad is sacked because Kyle will be gone the same day. At least if he stood himself down he is giving one of the two a chance.

I missed the pre game interview with Flanno, I heard someone mention that Flanno said that the halves were on notice ? Atkinson deserves nothing but praise, he is trying his guts out, you can see he is under pressure from having to do everything. Sure KF put in a nice kick to get us a try but something like that needs to happen every set, he needs to provide a point of difference consistently and not as a surprise that he did something.

Yes. He was asked about their injured ankles and said, 'They are fine so no excuses.'

Kyle got that try assist when they were down a man but if we swapped Mitch Moses with Kyle, we would've beaten then by 30 points yesterday.

Atkinson has been good. Very good kicking game and some good moments other than that but it remains to be seen if he's better than LKT. He is right now but due to LKTs age and a coach who by all appearances doesn't want him to improve his game, I'm neutral about which will partner Reed next year. They were really impressive in reserve grade even though they are young enough to play Flegg.

It’s funny in rugby league because there’s this thing where coaches don’t really ever get run into their last year. Their either sacked prior or they extended so ‘recruitment’ becomes more clear for players to know who the coach is going to be for the next 3-4 seasons

Problem is the kick for Suli and the competing on the bomb which could even have actually been a try (is chest a knock on) will have him given a 90% grade for the game on the weekend ...

Usually you would only want to extend a good coach. When the coach is bad, more years are bad.
