They are a growing force in swimming. That is fact. As for other sports I dont have an answer. Are you a Cannuck?
No. Just seems strange even NZ, population around 4mil, is beating Canada, population around 35mil. And it's not as if Canada is poverty stricken, unable to support sport.

After Day 3 we have now cleared out from the field, bagging 52 medals.. 22 of those the most glittering. Great win by our girls in Rugby 7s. Some real class in our lineup, while the Dolphins continue our pool gold rush. Queen Emma with her record breaking swim too.

I actually didn't realise until now that South Africa is part of the British Commonwealth. How did that come to pass?

Woke early just in time to watch our Dolphins continue their domination of the sprint relays. This time the men took home the gold in the 4x200 and in a games record. I saw the future of Aussie sprinting in teen Flynn Southern with a blistering second leg which imo won us the event. That win also took us to 31 gold 10 clear of England and 27 clear overall.

Dont ask me. I expect even if Australia becomes a Republic.. same as Sth Africa, we too will remain under the Commonwealth Games umbrella. That is one tie to the mother's apron I wont mind.. as we always smash our perennial old enemy in most sports.

As long as the costs don't outweigh the benefits, Australia will remain in the organisation. I think the greatest threat to the organisation comes from the UK breaking up in acrimonious terms. Germany/The EU wants Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Does NI wanna leave the UK.. I doubt that very much. Scotland is keener with the next referendum likely to decide when they leave. You mean that Germany wants the EU to accept those two nations if available?

Almost 100% of the English Protestants don't want to and almost 100% of the Irish Catholics want to. Sin Fein or an affiliated Sin Fein Party won the last local elections suggesting the demographers are right about Irish Catholics soon being a majority if not already. Of course it doesn't mean its a done deal but it's certainly a possibility.

Well, I think Germany wants Scotland and united Ireland in the EU. Actually, I'm absolutely sure they do. But that also doesn't make it a done deal.

Is he is specialist in 200m or 100m?

Both. Will probably also swim the 50m.. the sprint triple. Still 17 too.

The field for mens 100m free is unprecedentedly strong right now, isn't it?
Fairly certain an Australian has the current fastest 100m free time. Kyle Chalmers. An American is the Olympic champ while a Romanian is the world champion. I'd say yes the event is strong at the moment for women too. We have the current Olympic champion. Emma McKeon.

Australia crack the century and extend their medal lead over England after Day 5 with a further nine gold and 20 overall. But those pesky English wont go away and with athletics now in full swing I see them chipping away at our lead. I reckon the Aussies can hang on and defend our Games title.

I certainly hope so!

I told you those pesky Poms were catching us as they moved a touch closer on Day 6. But we still hold a comfortable overall medal lead. Our women continue to reign as the best relay swimmers in the sport with a Games 4x100 added to their bulging trophy cabinet.

What a champion cerebral palsy sprinter Evan O'Hanlon is. Para world and Para Olympic 100m track titles and now adding to his many Para CG titles. This speed machine is like good wine. Hope we see him go on to the Paris Olympics.

For the first time since the Games started England is within 10 gold of the Aussies and within 20 medals overall. I expected this as they have superior athletes in track and field.. specially with their colored sprinters and middle distance runners. Still we maintain our lead with strong performances across others sports like athetics field events, cycling, squash and diving.
