Dean Young has a better resume than Hornby...

Tonga Assistant coach
NSW assistant Coach
2 different NRL clubs (yes hes been shit for most of those years)
Coached SG Ball & NYC (Under credentialed vs Talau who has proven success at all junior rep levels)

now present to me Hornby's resume.
he made the prelims for the cowboys in 2022

But I think people are off him because of his father and also because our defence has been rubbish in his tenure

Let’s see what he can do anyway

As expected. He won't be head coach. If he does well, he might retain his position as assistant. Is Willie Talau the new assistant?
You know there lies in the problem with our current board. Nobody can tell me that replacing the head coach wasn't discussed weeks ago. Surely nobody believes those in authority woke up on Sunday morning and decided to pull the plug. It hasn't worked in the past using old boys and obviously we haven't learnt from history

I think our energy will be up, but its been up for a lot of games this year, but we cant capitalise on it... i.e. even if we do score 15-20pts... most teams are scoring 30-40 now.. we still lose.

We would need a lot of half chances to come off, and the injury situation makes it way harder.. we would need the Roosters to be awful.. there isnt really a lot he can change with the outside backs either due to injuries.. Cant c him throwing Reed in this week even for 30mins.. so yeah I think any changes will be forced... pretty much every fit player will be named tomorrow...

I'm sure they decided a couple of weeks ago that if results didn't turn around, Deano would be interim coach but they had to discuss it with him first. If the results are really good while he is interim, he's every chance of being full-time coach from next year and he will have deserved it. If results are average, he's a chance of retaining his position as assistant.

All I see are positives.

I see very few positives out of this but we can agree to disagree amicably on this issue

If results are average why would he retain the assistant job

Heard Watsford on radio last night mention that Creagh will be stepping into the gm role. Not sure if it’s in the interim or if it’s his job now.
It's not a bad thing. He might be a really good GM. Give him a chance. Just as long as he doesn't push for Deano to take over as the long-term head coach. I'd like a GM that doesn't do much. He gives DA a lot of room to do what he thinks best with the roster and a competent coach to coach that team. With the financial health of the club off the field, the new facilities, the extra resources into pathways, I'm confident sustained success is just around the corner.
