They can be true but it's still a BS excuse for appointing a head coach.

I want the best coach we can get not the favourite son.

Does that mean you are in favour of Hornby being appointed? I went for Cheika > Arthur > Talau.

I imagine Talau is a bit of a stretch. Has to do at least a couple of seasons as an assistant first. Arthur is staying put where he is. So Cheika it is for me.

The interviews are still ongoing as far as I know.

We were way too late with Arthur, I read somewhere that he would have been interested, but alas we are the Dragons. We should have started to sound him out when Flanno was on the skids. We could have killed 2 birds with one stone, got Arthur and I reckon DY would have left.

I think the club was waiting for a couple wins to announce Young but that will never happen.
So the announcement will be after a good performance game like on the weekend.

Who will take the wrap when Deano fails miserably even with the new guys and others proposed come into the squad next year? We have seen this change of coach scene for far too long. I now think that Deano is a fait accompli and we will all have to wait to see how his full-time promotion pans out.

Hoping to minimise the effects of their decision rather than hope for something good. Sounds about right for the Dragons board.

I'm hearing you mate, but jesus even 2 years with a possible option is virtually the complete contract of players we are getting, and it will be wasted with DY. I've always been for giving someone a chance, but we are actually getting a preview of what we would be getting. The only thing saving him atm is the cattle we currently have, especially in the backs and how much they suck. I really dont think Bennett or Bellamy could do anything with them.

I don't have any issues with Young or Hornby because they are old-boys. The bad record with old-boy coaches will continue until it doesn't. Like the losing streak against Canberra several years ago.

I'm against it because Deano's record as an interim head coach is very bad and his record as an assistant is only slightly better. Hornby is just a bit better in both areas.

Ryan Carr is more qualified than both. He definitely brought about a significant improvement when Griffin was sacked. Deano hasn't brought about any improvement at all. Ditto Hornby at Souffs when JD was sacked.

Yes. Just wishful thinking Justa. Whatever the term, the contract should contain many conditional clauses one being a minimal payout if his contract is terminated as and when decided by the Administration.

Yep its either 2 or 3yrs.. hopefully 2 given they no how much of a roll of the dice he is.. we cant be burning 3yrs which is our entire window + the best years of our incoming talent.

Even 2 years wastes our best years.
3 year new coach rebuild.
