If the 6 games a year at Kogarah remain then that's a massive plus.
I can see how what you're saying could happen, I really hope it does, I really mean that because I love the club.
I'm fearful it may not because the club has been bad for so long, its hard to trust the decisions being made by managememt.
If they start winning then that just might be how the problems are solved.
I hope so as well............

This is concerning - it looks like WIN is looking to wipe St George out of the picture. The success of the club was built on a base in St George - it's looking like it's not a coincidence that since WINs take over the club has gone down hill because mamhement are moving away from what worked for decades. The recent dramas over the past 3 years show being based in Wollongong and the current management are destroying this club.

To be honest, from reading the article, I didn't get that impression at all. It was merely about extending the term of the chairman but still on a rotating basis between St. George and WIN Corp. And it was the former who initiated discussions. I think it's a positive development.

You don't think there's a link between the move away from the St George brand and the clubs decline?
For 12 seasons the Dragons have played poorly and in the past 4 years the club has never been through so many more dramas - the people managing the club are clearly failing. The centenary of the club was framed as "St George Districts" 100 year anniversary not St George Illawarra - this ignores the fact that St George were by far the more dominant player in the merger, disrespecting the fact the club existed for 90 years as single entity and one of the most successful ruyby league clubs ever - there's a reason when they merged the name, emblem and jersey remained the same, it's iconic and St George were the dominant player. St George saved Illawarra and used it as opportunity to officially expand its base, it wasn't a merger of 2 equals. The recent behaviour ignores all of that and with the constant problems, it's hard to believe the direction the club is going isn't going to kill it, the evidence is becoming overwhelming.

Good question. Never thought of it that way.

No doubt at all.

St. George saved Illawarra but I think the idea was that while St. George had the money, Illawarra had the high growth region and huge junior catchment St. George needed to survive long-term. Both being red and white and allowing St. George to keep the red V jersey was a big bonus.

But all that aside, I think the article you shared has nothing to do with this issue at all. Indeed, the St. George side of the operation is the side pushing for the change.

I understand the people managing the St George side are pushing this, they definitley are and that's the problem - I don't think it's representative of what fans want and what's in the best interests of the club.

What are you proposing? Only one or two games at WIN or none at all? Cancelling of the CHPC? I actually learned something from that article. I thought the club management was based in the St George Leagues Club. But is it in fact in WIN Stadium?

A lackey of Gordon, "a human resources specialist", will be in charge for the next 3 years. Just enough time to dig the team out of this mess and then have a St George appointed chairman for 3 years. I think the timing is good for St George.

Hmmmm food for thought. Maybe they have been bought off by WIN Corp.
