There was no evidence. Just her word against theirs, all 3 of them present, and their private text messages insisting on their innocence.

It is the off season..... Anyway, people don't like how he did it with his misses at home pregnant but he was certainly innocent of criminal offences. The corrupt cop was certainly guilty. I know the family of the other accused was livid the cop didn't get jail time and were considering civil action as they blame him for it going as far as it did.

If I was the CEO I would have gone on the front foot as said something to end of, "In this country a man is innocent until found guilty in a court of law. We are sorry if sponsors or anyone else doesn't like it." but that probably demonstrates my lack of marketing knowledge or competence. As GCRV alluded to:

unfortunately it may well have been something which negatively affected the club in the sponsorship sense. It most certainly affected team on the field.

That's the way I see it anyway.
