Dragons Lair General Information

This is todays article archived, but I think the data is being spread over a number of them.
Some of this may be true, but comparing us to the NFL, what planet do you live on. A country of 27 Million compared to 350 Million, a country that controls world financial markets. The thing is lately there has been some focus put on them and they dont like it. Its now proven its a money game, it always was, what I am glad about is that location is basically irrelevant. I remember many a conversation had amongst us fans that marquee players wouldnt come to the Dragons because of location. Anyway I would like to know what made the Dragons difficult to deal with, I would like to think its probably the board, or maybe now we are starting to refuse to pay overs for has-beens.

You don't let them dictate to you but you don't piss them off as well.
What would you call pissing them off is ? All I know is there have been a few agents deregistered for some unscrupulous acts dare I say, not to mention what Moses was doing to the Tigers. Moses is just a plain criminal and shouldnt have been allowed back into the game after his second offence.

I don't know but I guess if a player, like Latu tells his agent something like, "I'm keen to stay at the Dragons. Do you best to get the deal done with them." the agent is professional enough to do that no matter what his relationship with the coach is.
But is it a easy negotiation or a hard negotiation.
This leads straight back to the stat that Mail posted.
Dragons are the second hardest club to deal with, what part of that is hard to understand

You can add Jasais Ah Kee to that plus other younger players at Crown, Sione Finau, Cyrus Stanley-Traill, Api Amone and Ollie Burton.
So correct me if im wrong..
Mario is sole owner Crown, he has 3 or 4 agents working for him ie Mick Chebl who looks after Finau Latu, are all the others shared between the other agents? Does Mick have to go to Mario for final approval on an offer, so in the Latu instance would Mick do all the ground work, make a decision then go to Mario for approval before taking the best option to Latu?

is Flanno being left with too much to do?

seems like a dictatorship with him controlling everything and having a heap on his plate, he’s an idiot for piping up about Tartak’s guys as well

They’re one of the big dogs with a shitload of good established players + young up and comers

We should be doing everything we can to keep that relationship strong, especially if we want to lock down Ah Kee/Burton long term + sign Da Silva potentially

He couldn't control his own ego which is dumb. Flanno also has an agent managing him, isaac moses.
Well Issac Moses, in my view, is a very shady character that really should not have been re registered as a player managers.

In my world, coaching a player to give false evidence to a statutory body was called perjury and would have seen both given a custodial sentence.

He definitely needs support, imo someone with more verbal finesse to manage those delicate negotiations, Flanno will meet with players sure, but leave a cool and experienced head to handle those managers games.

I believe we wanted to sign Scott Fulton very early on but the board denied it.. we then missed POS in June 2024, and not even a hint of a Recruitment Manager being considered in nearly 12 months... perhaps its been postponed to the CEO comes.. or perhaps we have someone lined up for 2026..

But that is compounded by a very average GM who himself could have resolved some of those juniors negotiations if not more... and still no CEO through the front door (that unfortunately took a while to sort out).. but definitely imo paying the price for not getting these 3 crucial appointments made 12 months ago..

It's actually embarrassing that we still haven't filled that position.. heard different stories re Fulton, wondering if he would be an option down the track.. Maybe missing out on POS is a blessing in disguise we may have ended up with Dylan Brown for 10 years :p
