From the other form - Flanagan was very clear today when asked about Lodge, definitely NOT, also CT will be the first winger picked, Ray and Sele looking great, Luc still to lose more weight. Expects to sign 2 more forwards in next couple of weeks, mentioned Bris and or the Knights

Imo he'd be bs'ing about where the fwds will come from. Why would he reveal it to the public?
Is Ray going to be in the first choice 17 again? I've been far less hard on him than other posters here but he's just not good enough anymore. Should take a large injury or suspension toll in the forwards for him to be considered.

Word is the one from Brisbane is Fletcher Baker. Take that with a grain of salt though.

Ray came off the bench in the open training session and replaced Luch.

Corey Ackers on the way out. It's absolutely baffling to me the players Flanno rates and the one's he doesn't rate. But I'll be glad if Flanno and the likes of RFM, Mike Molo, Lawrie, Eisenhuth and Kyle Flanagan prove me wrong.

Ackers has been injured and other younger guys have surpassed him

Ackers ain’t a loss, way more talented forwards in our ranks than him.

I feel the same way about him leaving as I did about Ashton ward. Meh so what
I just liked the way he fearlessly charged forward and made a lot of metres but admittedly, in the open age group that might just means he gets smashed a lot.

I'm not an expert but I think you might find he just doesn't have the right body shape to suit his game.

I knew a bloke who was in the extended reserves for Aus schoolboys when he was only 17. Prototype lock at that time though his game in seniors is probably more like an edge backrower. This bloke just didn't grow any more so ended up having the build of a typical hooker, maybe on the big side for hookers though not by much, but the game of a backrower. He was signed by Rorters but never played NRL.

I think the same thing has happened to Ackers. Needs to be a good number of cm taller and improve his sideways movement. As is, I'm not sure he can do it. Always disappointing to see a long-time highly regarded junior go by the wayside but it is what it is.

Sounds reasonable. Wish him the best but hope he doesn't excel elsewhere.

He's got the skills but commitment and attitude is not up to it. I'm surprised we gave him a development contract.

Corey solid kid, had knee surgery after Ball finished, probably out for the year.
I think he has one more year on Supplementary contract, then I thnk he will be released, Flanno is not a fan of him.
Nothing new
Ackers hasn't played since April
Had a 3rd knee surgery before Xmas after only being back at training for 2 weeks.
Won't be fit for at least another 2 months.
We have Couchys Dylan Hamish Loko Finau and Nick all in front of him plus Cyrus, Jake and Leeroy signed up.

Shame really, have heard a few things from my mates son (negative), lots of potential and high hopes for him when he started out...

I think they described Ackers as being unusual in that he is fairly fearless, which is a trait I love in a forward.. and I can see he has ball skills for a big man.. maybe a young Trent Merrin... but we have a tonne of young options to focus on... if Flanno isnt high on him, its an easy choice.

With a dev spot cleared.. maybe we can slot a back in there.. plus Lawson I think will be promoted asap.. so thats 2 spots open for some of the T&T kids.
