There is no spot cleared, just because the media reported it doesn't mean it will happen.
Ackers would have to agree to it plus be paid out his sup contract.
He is also injured and his rehab is under NRL contract, so I doubt anything happens until he is fit.

You also have to take into account there is a salary cap on Supplementary and T&T contracts. Nothing is as clear cut and easy as the media make out.

Interesting.. I guess I was assuming another club was picking him on an equivalent Supplementary contract.. but sounds like that hasnt taken place yet.. just permission to negotiate.

Is there a limit on how much a player can get paid on a pathways contract?

surely that’s why Canterbury and roosters can sign all the best kids

Pretty sure there is though I think they don't sign all the best kids. Who won Flegg last year? We know they don't get the best U19s.

Dogs have won flegg the last 2 seasons back to back. Won Harold Matt’s recently and made the SG ball final this year. They definitely have the best junior pathways program at the moment. Roosters minor premiers in Sg ball 3 of the last 4 years.

dogs junior systems have been dominant at all ages, thats what's frustrating.. the best is ahead for that club when that talent starts to be 1st grade ready and meets the existing guys bought in by Gus.

long way for us to go yet, we had the steelers SG Ball 2019 win, the Dragons SG Ball 2024 win, but its not entrenched.. Flegg and Cup are very up and down.. Flegg in theory with 2 SG Ball teams below should have an advantage but it hasnt been the case.. that said its not really about those sides winning.. its more that young players are becoming 1st grade ready... rly hoping for an improved year in 2025.. feel like Flanno as head coach will slowly have a filter down effect on those grades also... starting with coach selections.

I see. Apart from how the Dragons and Dragons/Steelers are going, I don't follow it at all.

I agree. Dragons Jersey Flegg team is so frustrating. In 2022 they went out to Penrith in the finals. For the first 20 min they refused to tackle. It was ridiculous. Then in the last 15, they were all over Penrith and had fought back to be only about a try behind but still tried to score off every play. Again, ridiculous! Hopefully Reed will be a cooler head leading them around from halfback and I think they have a new coach, don't they? Maybe things will turn around quite quickly.

I'm going to sign up for the BarTV sub on saturday (schedule), weekends are going to be deadset exhausting from here on in.. as it seems like they cover everything now.. 10.30am Dragons HM, 12.00pm Dragons SG, 2.30pm Steelers HM, 4.00pm Steelers SG... and thats not including any womens games if you follow those also...
