Not a good offseason for Jesse, he was out for a while with MCL, then picked up a quad injury on return, he should be ready for trials but underdone.
That’s a shame. I hope he kicks on. I recall you said he was pretty underwhelming in JF last year. Thanks for the feedback.

Steelers captain announcement.
Couple of points.
CJ Meafou front and centre will be Harold Matthews captain.
CJ the young brother of Daniel turns 17 this year and is already 191cm and 93kg.
He plays edge and can middle, last year he also played on the wing for NSW u16 Waratahs.
This kid has skill, speed and size, massive future.
Kade Reed left SGB captain, Kyle has bulked up in offseason adding 5kg.
Bulking too much too quick can have knock on effects, (Sloan's stress fracture foot) for Kade he had a lot of back pains as he adjusted to the extra weight.

Any kid at that age that can play wing, 2nd row, middle.. you know he has the whole set of skills.. need to make sure we lock up his older brother and keep them both at home.. I know that seems obvious, but we have a pathway setup for all of last years gun dragons forwards, but only Weatherall has one from the Steelers side.. I think Daniels injury postponed that conversation for 12mths for him.. but we have to find room.. but the number of young forward far out makes balancing the squads hard.. but I spose in a good way.

Last year the Dragons SG Ball were that good. This year it might be the Steelers. You would have to think the future is bright.

There was a great 5 min highlight video of Daniel Meafou’s SG ball season last year on Instagram He’s a fantastic talent.
Absolutely need to lock him down past 2025.
Have never seen CJ Meafou play but the raw materials look great, interesting to see what position he ends up in
