Cant watch all the games today, but from what I've seen from Steelers HM so far its promising.. 16-0 up at half time, but been close to scoring a few more times through Ollie & Humphries, they still have 1 try each though....

New right side edge outside CMeafou in VaiVai@ Ctr (massive dude who looks hard to stop, but dropped it cold attacking their line in one of the moments I saw), and Tsagalas the winger outside him. Not sure what happened to Macgregor and Goulder.

Early 2nd half and we are going on with it, rly annoyed Tsagalas got held up over the line with a full head of steam and noone in front.. should have been an 80m try with plenty of ollie magic but some excellent defence tbf from the tigers, they've held up 2 sure things so far.

Tigers finally got a try off a few penalties, but weve gone with it, Ollie at full speed for his 3rd.. plenty of push and shove and aggro between these 2 teams, reminds me of I think it was the wests game a while back, they clearly dont like eachother... we do need to be careful in finals.. we tend to get dragged into these dogfights once emotions gets into it. 32-10 full time. We finish 2nd on the ladder due to only 4pt on for and against if you can believe it... but Top 2 is good.
=======
Dragons HM are getting pumped, man that side has fallen off the edge as the season rolled on, even with Ah Kee running things.. the points have dried up... as I say that 3 late consolation tries.. 16-38 fulltime.. season done.

Note: I just watched the highlights.. for the last maybe 20mins or so... Ah Kee sent the 9 back into the line and took over from hooker so he could get his hands on the ball more I assume.. went on to score 2 tries, 1 off a phoenix johns run, 1 himself from dummy half.. interesting.... I mean the sharks probably clocked off.. but its interesting.. I like the idea, though surely he will lose a lot of his energy for attack if hes defending all day.. but maybe.

Steelers SG.. man this tigers pack is physical++, rly making it hard for us to get out of our own end, and making us come off our line each time.. relying on penalties... definitely not going to be winning if we cant address that.. and not great before finals week... Couple of good runs from DMeafou, 1 from Jackson.. but most of the runs are right into the teeth of 2-3 big middles.

Finally forced an error 16mins in.. Heidke with a beautiful run sent Saifiti into the corner but must have put a foot out.. but we got the penalty.. and Weatherall crashed over next play anyway.. tigers player already standing over him as he scored face to face.. must be coached into them or something.

25mins in and we fought our way down field, but with only 1 tackle left.. went for a crash play through meafou.. I thought he was over but ruled a knock on.. tigers back on the attack.. tough game.. refs giving us nothing either.. thankfully touch judge is willing to intervene... and then the ref overrules him anyway... this is great..

Finally something our way.. Fitzy has gone over with some individual stuff after a penalty.. 12-0.

Holy sh**, Tigers #10 is the thiccest player ive ever seen.. couldnt get him down so we ended up holding him up over the line... thankfully he knocked it on the following play... and holy shit very aggressively we threw some risky passes 10m out from our line and ran the length off his drop... Fitzy outpacing their speedmen to get it down in the corner.. what a turnaround after the ref kept giving them the ball back... holy sh** Reed kicked it from touch.. 18-0 halftime.

I'm gonna switch to NSW Cup, will catch up on this one later. jesus they did go on with it though late..

==================
Note that Dragons SG are winning 20-4 (half time), hope they can go on with that and avoid the spoon.. will check out highlights later... note they won 28-20 in the end..

Tough, physical start to the Steelers SG Ball but once they got into the fight, it was knock down after knockdown. Right about now, Tigers are praying for a TKO. If they aren't, they should be.

Tigers aren't that bad either. Mid-table.

St. George allowed Newcastle to score the last 5, yes 5 tries but still won.

That’s a fantastic win, best performance of the season I’d argue heading into week 1 of finals.
Lovely to see!

Looks like Steelers SG ball will play the storm at WIN stadium or Collegians in finals if it is the 5th v 8th format?

St George Matt’s and Ball nowhere to be seen in bitterly disappointing seasons for both of them. The only bright spots are a potentially great 6 in Jasais Ah Kee and a potentially great outside back in Phoenix Johns
Ai not a lot of positives for either grade bar those 2 players, tbh often there is a lot of hype for certain individuals in lower grades... and we cant always be sure even after 9 rounds.. have to assume the hype is based on something, but there were other kids I liked too.. they were solid.. but seems like you need more than solid to move up a grade... but without seeing how they train and are coached we dont really know their potential..... Pheonix im not rly sure about tbh, he had a lot of hype and hes done some good things, its mostly his big size, I cant really tell yet what his ceiling would look like.. too early still...

Ah Kee a different story, hes obviously going to be the next gun half to come thru.. I was fascinated by his move to hooker in that last game, whether he took it upon himself to get his hands on the ball and orchestrate a comeback.. which he kind of did.. or whether it was a planned move.. not sure if that just 20mins in a one-off game or there was more too it moving forward..

Yeah Phoenix Johns could easily be a flop 3 years from now and maybe it’s just cause he’s bigger than everyone else he stands out.

The Ah Kee hooker experiment was interesting, he looked incredible albeit in a very small sample size.

You never know what positions a player will end up at in first grade but he’s just a really good footy player first and foremost and he looks like he’ll excel if he wants too in a bunch of positions.

Mason Phillips not named in the SG ball side, injured or suspended and for how long?

That’s a big out, breakspear/Parker pass the ball like their picking a watermelon up off the ground

The Steelers SG squad looks pretty much full strength bar Kirk, Taufa off the bench is a weapon.. pretty good result after a period mid-season where most of the backline was missing.. several forwards only came in late in the season..

I dont see anyone obvious missing from Harold Matts either..

Melbourne’s SG ball team is Lowkey good. Theirs 4 or 5 guys that are game winners there and they can score points. Just can’t defend very well.

IIRC, If Steelers win against storm they will play the lowest ranked losing team of the top 4 teams when they play each other this week.

Which is likely the Roosters who take on the undefeated Parra team.

In Matts - If Steelers beat knights and go to the prelim I think they’ll play whoever loses the other top 4 battle between Warriors and Sydney roosters as I think the loser of that game will win the following week and then play Steelers in the prelim on the other side of the draw.

Steelers have been caught with the intensity of the Knights start. They need to turn this momentum around sooner rather than later. Bombed a certain try as well.
