thats depressing.. ofcourse gould gets rid of him and signs a better one..

that said I havent seen a better hooker in 17s or 19s in dragons or steelers..so thats a real concern.. i dont know whos coming behind cook/liddle, if indeed liddle stays on.

Just checked the fixtures arrangement for Harold Matt’s, Steelers are facing CC roosters in a do or die game…..

That will be tough, Halfback Mareko and the Fesolai brothers outstanding for them with a big forward pack to play off.

If the Steelers make as many errors as they did today in the upcoming game they’ll lose that as well

I'm pretty sure NSWRL have that wrong.
I think we will play Rabbitohs.

Kyle Flanagan was signed to play hooker according to his dad.

Kade Reed finishes 3rd in The Short Ball’s ‘dally m’s’ For the SG ball player of the season. Bear in mind he missed a game against a poor warriors team too, very good season from him.

Think we’ll see Jasais Ah Kee in the top 3 for harold matthews and Oliver Burton high up as well.

The end goal of Junior reps is to produce players through to the firsts team and I’d call it a very successful season in that regard. Steelers Pathways over the next 2 seasons will be a very good watch.

Spoke to a few people who talk very highly of our new CEO. Heard a couple things which are very encouraging and he wants to change a few things with the pathways program.

There we have it, so impressive considering Burton’s a year young playing Matt’s and Ah Kee played in a dreadful side yet looked the best player on the field most weeks.

Mareko is a weapon too, hopefully he’s a dragons boy this time next year 🤞🏻

The timeline for both works out tremendously, 3 years from now when gutho’s done Burton can spend a year on the wing with Sloan at fullback then switch them back over and Ah Kee I genuinely think is special. He could be literally anything from what we’ve seen so far.

Burton has some similarities to a Turbo style game. I know it is only Matt’s but he is constantly on the ball around the ruck. Very busy. Yes Ah Kee is also special.

I've been contemplating what life looks like post-gutho.. depends what year it happens.. im worried about both fullback quality & leadership... Id love it to be Burton but hes probably not ready.. I think he still has a year of U17s yet... Sloan maybe if hes still there.. depends how well he plays as a winger.. im still not in love with him but id love it to work out.

Halves who knows its too far away + reed/LKT who knows.. hooker is the main one im concerned we appear to have no standouts..

Centres as well, hopefully Heidke is just getting a rest and will be moving up soon cause there is a huge gulf in quality ctr depth, and i also cant believe we dont have gun wingers in cup by now.. so many possibilities but Kirks ACL, Williams injuries and form, BRumbles errors, Lawsons adjustment, rly just SFinau who im not even positive will stay.. but im hoping singing the song last night + anzac day next week.. and rly he has another month atleast to secure a spot.. but we gotta fill him with some faith that we arent going to put him in reserves if he extends.. and if he plays well he will get more offers ofcourse.

I must say I haven’t really noticed Heidke as that much of a standout. Not saying he isn’t just that I haven’t particularly noticed. Does he have the speed to make it?

The centre/wing depth options coming through aren’t great but the good thing is it’s quite easy to spot a talented ourside back.

Envious of the tigers with Makasini coming through at centre, mark my words he’ll be a phenomenal player.

We have 2 great centres in first grade for at least 2 more years so it’s not an immediate concern in that area

A big issue with Dragons reps is the amount of players they bring in that haven't played together, especially in Matts.
The new Dragons Academy separate from the SGI Academy will bring together a core group of players for a round 8 weeks prior to the rep season.

ooh Heidke is a late inclusion into Flegg! Hope the boys bounce back with the new inclusions.. noting that we arent the only one with SG kids included.

  • 12.50pm - Jersey Flegg (BarTV-No Commentators)
    (Reed, DMeafou, Heidke, Borg & Halangahu in)
  • 3.00pm - NSW Cup (Watch on Fox)
    (SFinau backing up, Reed backing up as 18th man)
  • 3.45pm - Harold Matts (U17s) Week 2 of Finals (BarTV)
