With likely LCT, Heidke, Reed and Hutcho, possibly Rubie and Hammoud too, being promoted to Ressies next season, Flegg is gonna need a serious injection of talent to be competitive.

Jersey Flegg Notes (12-38 Loss):
  • One of the hardest games to watch in ages, we should have led by miles, they had 2 sinbins.. and we couldnt hold the ball for 1 set during any of it.. trying to score off every play, flat risky passes, tonnes of errors.. just handed the game on a platter.. ref didnt help in the first half in particular.. but most of it was our own doing. Despite all that we were leading with 25mins to go... but they rolled in 5 tries late..
  • Probably the first time ive seen Kade struggle a bit also, the roosters pack is enormous, and they really rushed us in defence all game, Kade had no space to work with.. and some of the passes werent on, we need to adapt to that in the future, Hammoud struggled also, had a couple of nice moments, but plenty of errors and some ordinary passing.. not a good game..
  • That said.. we had heaps of opportunities and field-position regardless and it was the errors that just wasted it..
  • One of the only nice moments was a long range try from Jesse Williams.. will make the highlight reel, but means little in the end.
  • Not a lot to else to add.. no Heidke hurt, Lytric forced into centre with Hale returning who has errors in him.. had an ok game.. No CST or Liu, but they still had plenty of talent with Weatherall, Rubie, Ackers, Treweek.. but maybe just a little class missing.. but there was something just wrong with our approach today,
  • Fagalilo was pretty solid as always and Hjaltason had his first real minutes since he returning from injury.. has been out for all of 2025.. he had some great attacking runs in there.. hard to rate how hes going defensively though.. need to see more... plus I was watching on a chromecast with no rewind button so it makes it hard to assess things on the fly. Dissapointing but hopefully a good looking reggies side will prevail next.

Thanks Rev a great report as always, well Ressies better win or else it will really be a shit weekend for the club if it isn't already.
