NSW Cup Notes:

• First try was our part time hooker Haele putting on a shimmy on from ctr to beat his defender 1on1. been there a few weeks now, growing into the role!
• Note: Williams has been solid, I like him under bombs he gets his body in front of the ball for impact.
• Ilias feels like he spins a roulette wheel to make a decision.. sometimes he throws a long pass to someone 1m away from him..
• For some reason Rubie has run on in the 1st half (he just played flegg).. he later went off HIA in the 2nd half.
• 12-18 at half time, still in the contest.. couple of guns in the panthers squad today, that Austin Dias is a massive prop.. nelson like.
• Panthers score after half time though.. CST has concussed himself trying to make the tackle also...doesnt look good.. but he came back on thankfully....
• Not looking good at 12-28, but Glover splits them open near our line.. what a run and puts Ramsey away under the sticks.. 18-28 with 25mins to go.
• Daine Laurie must be a chance at a 2026 signing with us? Seems like hes been reliable for years. 26yrs of age.. could do a lot worse...
• Been a hairy last 20mins.. 1 riff player in the bin.. Ilias with a lovely run near the line to score though... down by 6pts with 10mins to go. 24-30.
• Holy sh**.. BMM is crushing them and Ramsey sets up Ilias in support who scores against under the post.. 30-30, fascinating game!
• Jesus I had to amend my 1st half Ilias remarks.. hes just hit a field goal from 35m out with 5mins to go to give us the lead.. mr Ilias with a huge 20m period!
• 1min to go and Cole creates the winning try for penrith.. but their centre drops it cold over the line... hooollleeeeee...
• We've done it.. f*** yeah... 31-30 victory... Liu looks injured was our enforcer, well him and BMM, well done lads.. huge lift ahead of finals.

Wow now that's a decent win against one of the top teams. That showed a bit of character and you really have to believe the coach has done his bit to get the lads to have a mental toughness. That should secure 2nd spot the Eels got a real touch up against the Warriors earlier today.

To be clear.. Cole tore us a new one and penrith should have won by 5pts with 60 seconds to go.. but.. f*** yeah.. what a huge lift, esp for ilias who has been so bad this season.. great confidence booster.. might help us sell him also.... they needed something like that in cup, its been a slow death thru this ongoing injury crisis + some rly tough games.

Should be some players dropping back next week once Jack/Hame and maybe Sua r there.

A few points from today's teams.

Flegg lost Afu during the week hammy twinge, and Shadi last night in captains run.
TPH to Cup.
We had Kye Andews 4 tries and Aaymon Fitzgibbon on debut who had shocker.

In the game we lost Leeroy possible MCL and Kye Wright.
LCtM to HIA returned then injured late

Cup lost Ice to infection, Murders and Ray dropped back but the club pulled Ray 30 min before kickoff.
That meant Campbell came in after playing 60min in Flegg huge effort.

We lost Cyrus and Jett to HIA and finished with Murders playing edge.
