I think we need 2 props one to replace FMolo and another to come into the squad, Guler was good, BUT can he go 26 rounds leading us on his own? Lawrie is unknown quality for 2025 will be important for him to get back into form, i thought he would develop into our leading prop, hopefully this year is the year..
Agree... we will need to move someone on though to sign 2.. the challenge is can we find someone were happy with mid season? Probably someone that needs to be signed for 2yrs+?

We should be ok for a little while... but as injuries build up.. even 1 or 2 middles.. and it could be a real problem for us. Am also curious to see how Lawrie goes....

Line speed was great, good numbers in tackles too. It really could've been 26-0 if rava just stayed on his man, left side doesn't suit him at all. Attack had some great shape all over the field, glad we ran a few different lines to keep the attack varied.

Loved the starting 3 middle combo with Guler the big bopper attracting defenders, couchman with his leg speed & offloads then jdb doing a bit of both. All combined well in attack & defensively.

Couchman twins are machines, non stop every minute but also have the IQ to know when they're likely to not get a quick PTB and look for an offload instead. All in all you couldn't really ask for a better trial.

You are not blaming Rava for the roosters 2nd try are you? he had a 2 on 1 over lap on him, i think from memory MarkN was playing fullback, he received the ball and had a decoy runner go through, Stewart and Buchanan both tackled the same player leaving the RobertT unmarked forcing Rava to come in and he slipped the pass to the winger to score, really well executed play, don't always be fooled that Rava is at fault all the time, when the winger gets let down by the inside defence he will always look bad and its easy to blame him and yes the first try was his fault, was too close to his inside man and the pass from Smith was excellent, cutting 2 players and hitting Young was elite, if AJohns did that we would be hearing about that for the next 3months..

Wasn't Rava's fault but Lawson and Finau are better than him and Feagai based on that game.

I don't like the idea of Cook and Liddle being on at the same time. The strength of the Dragons middle forwards is the speed, footwork and ability to play a lot of minutes. Don't need another small, fast middle forward.

I admit to being pretty bias cause I havent forgive the big fijiian for the parramatta game last year.. and im no expert obviously, but my Dad was a winger back in the day, and as he says.. 'stay on your man, I dont care if 4 tries get scored inside you, stay on your man', or words to that effect.. ive stopped absorbing it after so many years lol... but while I understand Rav would be having doubts about trusting his inside men.. its a 4on4 situation.. he cant keep letting his winger be outside him like that.. hes just not good with defensive decision making.. and hes not a rookie either.. the guy is a veteran now.

This is the first try:

Ok the 2nd try:
Ok you are right.. it is caused by 2 dragons tackling the Roosters #3.. im sure if they are training for this or not.. compressed defence.. feels like its asking to get burnt.

Roosters 3 is quite clever in running at Buchanan, to engage him.. he should never have been there, but Stewart was slow to get into position.. nonetheless.. there is a yawning gap outside Ravalawa, whether its team structure or what.. I mean tbf this is not an edge combination that would have trained together...

Rava almost looks like hes pointing to the threat or the other defender he wants Buchanan to cover.

btw found a way to take screenshots finally from kayo (if that's your setup), usually its blacked out, you just have to disable graphics acceleration, rly handy for moments just like this:
  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Click the three dots in the top right corner
  3. Select "Settings"
  4. Click the "System" tab
  5. Toggle "Use hardware/graphics acceleration when available" off
  6. Click "Relaunch" to restart the browser

Let me get the 2nd.. 1 minute..
Looks like he is trying to either hide behind Flanagan or isn't confident in his ability to make the tackle. No excuse. If Flanagan misses the tackle one on one, his problem. Rava has to stay on his opposing winger, as you say.

Tonga - Was strong without being outstanding
Good for a debut.7/10. 59m,17 tackles, hit hard and often in defense alongside Ryan Couchie and despite not having a lot of room to get his ample motor revving, managed some strong carries.

If you are talking about the 2nd try, you are way wrong, to say he has to stay on his winger is wrong, if he is on his winger than there is a big gap between Rava and Buchanan, Rava has to close that gap, that try is all Buchanan's and Stewart fault, they should be communicating and either trusting one and other or do better on the slide in future, it's actually a great learning experience for these guys, where coaching staff can show them where they went wrong and how to improve it.

How about our new play making combo guys.

Quiet start to his Dragons career by Illias, zero T/A, 8m,12 tackles but one prob a try saver on giant Rooster prop La Salle Va'a, from memory LPT Jrs Aussie Schoolboys bookend partner. Illias also put up several pin point bombs.

Between Gular, Lawrie, Sele, Tonga, Couchmans, I really can't understand all the talk about needing another prop. Judging from that game, he will still get better but Tonga is good enough for first grade now.

Rumble doesn't excite me at the moment
Can't agree. He did his job, made one mistake, was constantly trying to get into the game but was given very little room to run. Their kick and chase was good on the second half. Rumble was coming out of the corner with Rorters players all around again and again.
