Does feel like Latu isnt in the first drop of youngsters.. read into that whatever you like...

I prefer him to Stewart, but Stewart is signed up for 4yrs so were locked in on that one.

There are 2 NSW Cup trial games listed on BarTV, I assume the sunday one against souths is correct, if so a few of these guys can backup the following day.. hopefully Reed gets home to play for the Steelers also on Sunday.

I do think Halangahu and Latu are still probably a year away from playing NRL and not being exposed. We can’t forget they are both not even 19 yet, so they are very young even compared to Stewart and the Couchmans.

This time next year they could be banging the door down to play first grade. Hopefully by then they are both locked in til 27’ or 28’ at least

Hopefully it's a ploy by Flanno to keep Latu off the radar of other clubs. But then again, if Hunt and Molo gone a number off contract at the end of this year, money shouldn't be the issue when it comes to re-signing Latu or not.

I thought Latu (who is a year older than Halangahu) handled first grade sized players really comfortably.. thats a pretty good sign he would be ready to debut this year (certainly if Tonga wasnt there he would be the next up).. but it is true he didnt get enough minutes last week.

2026 and beyond is when money starts to matter, its why I think Flanno was trying to find blokes he could get for just 12 months (i.e. Lodge), I dont think he wants long contracts unless its a player he really wants to invest into longer term... and we probably wont sign that in February.

I dunno what the Latu offer is.. and maybe its on the lower end.. but I hate trying to keep players who want to maximise their dollar every contract.. seems like its just a matter of time before they get an offer and leave.. and tbf I have no idea what the feelings are like internally... its all fan speculation.

Only issue I see, if this is to happen, is how small our pack will be. Other coaches will be looking at that and rotating their own pack accordingly. It could lead to us losing any initiative that we may or may not have had earlier in that particular game. Time will tell

Murray is a gun. Probably more important for them than Mitchell. As far as I know, he'll be back around round 6. Shortly after that he'll play Origin. My the time Origin is over, Souths might be out of contention.

Bloody QLD have been playing with 2 hookers for a number of years and up until last year worked well for them. I rate both our hookers so I have faith in the premiership winning coach that he knows what he's doing.
