Everyone talking about Finau and no one mentioning the work Holmes did to get him in those spaces, he's all class. I love Finau and hope he gets his shot, will be very interesting to see who he picks round 1, but dont sleep on the fact that sweeping left side attack with Flanno/Gutho/Luch/Holmes looked outstanding to setup most of those opportunities. We should be excited about that as well not just Finau icing them, very keen for round 1!

haha you are right Val should be mentioned.. though I dont think hes forgotten.. hes just a given now.. i.e. a lock for the position...an actual out and out centre finally who will create for his winger.. far out its been a while... and I did an analysis of Finaus 4 tries from the weekend, the 4th one anyone scores, but the first 3 all needed something athletic... whether it was a 10+m sprint to the line before the cover got there, or a 70m run alongside Val with defenders on his heel.. or taking a ball at pace behind his back.. most of our existing wingers arent scoring those tries.

A reminder that all our wingers have their own strengths and weaknesses... and attack is just one part of the game.. and it means nothing if they arent also stopping tries and pumping out decent kick return metres.. but its certainly nice to have a winger who can take advantage of Holmes work... it would be a bit of waste to put a tank (CT/Feagai) outside a ferrari.. though I dont mind as much whos outside Suli... im completely fine with either of them depending on fitness/form.

I’d have loved to have seen Amone under Flanno, he was head and shoulders the best player in SG ball 2021 and had dolphins chasing him before he extended with us. Shame how it’s turned out.

I agree on most of your points except Sloan could play Wing but I’d rather Finau and Tuipolotu and I think Halangahu/Reed/Buchanan definitely need a year in cup and another preseason of growth before playing NRL

Halangahu and Buchanan should be given a year more in lower grades but if there was an injury/suspension/form crisis, they could be thrown in. Wouldn't embarrass themselves. Even if Ilias is injured, suspended or having a form crisis, Reed shouldn't be thrown in this year. That's the way I feel anyway.

In a perfect world he's be given another year but in a crisis...... might be able to be called on this year. He's on the supplementary list, isn't he? I imagine that means he's available in the event of a crisis.
