I dont know what the issue is with Sele, perhaps still suffering the effects of his illness but he hasn't been 1st grade quality so far. I'm worried about our depth in the forwards rotation in the bookends in particular.

No but we got flogged again in HM Cup and the SG Ball teams well the less said the better. Last in SGBall and 2nd last in HM Cup long season for both these teams.

Me too. Just look at the players we chased that could be now wearing our Red V, Addin-Carr, Campbell-Gillard, Terrel May. Say two of that trio makes for a decent bookend rotation.

I have more faith in them. Some good size in the pack, useful play makers and a reasonably solid middle defense.

Sorry old mate but Lawrie as much as we like him never goes beyond the advantage line soon as he is met by oppositions he goes down like a bag of spuds and gets rolled over for a slow play the ball ....... Has no leg drive the game has got too fast for him ......... Well I hope he proves me wrong .........

Fitness expert Dan Lawson has removed Lawries trademark gut flab I am hearing. Perhaps he has also added some muscle to his legs for better drive and power. Will have to see. Still I'd continue to have Lawrie in my pack for his passion alone.

I noted he has lost his gut and his effort has not been questioned it just wasn't good enough. I hope his mindset has changed during the off season. I said 2 yrs ago he was a bench forward and I'll stick to that until actually watching him play this season. In lieu of him you have Sele who hasn't hit his straps yet and young Tonga but I think it would be a mistake to rush him in if we have any alternatives.

Lost momentum each side of half time. Lost it badly but the main thing I took from the trials is that Finau has to be the first winger picked. Then CT, Sloan, Feagai, Rava can fight it out for the remaining spot.

I didn't see the second half but that probably turned out to be a good thing. Klemmer doesn't have much skill. A bit of admission, I hate the Grubs but I love the Kennel forum. Don't post there myself but love the meltdowns they have over the smallest things. I remember them whinging constantly about Klemmers inability to pass the ball. For the Dragons, that wouldn't be an issue because we have JDB, the Couchmans, Su'A and Leilua all who have an very good passing game. Just need one more big prop to keep
