Flanno Name dropping Loko, Stewart and Egan as guys who could step up for this season

Then later says Kade Reed has NRL level Skill and Speed but just needs his body to develop a bit more.

Interesting to see what happens with LKT now that Atkinson has been signed
That is interesting, specially considering I think I saw LKT is on a development contract for next year. I wonder if Latu just slipped his mind or whether he's a bit behind those other 3 forwards.

Finau Latu has played 1 game of cup, he really needs to put a a dozen games or so together there and do well before he gets a look in for first grade IMO, as far as I know he’s only signed for 2025 which hopefully gets extended another 2-3 years

True enough but he's in the top 30 so I guess that means he has a chance of getting into first grade next year.

Status for next year:
  • Dylan Egan: Definitely in for a first grade debut. I hope in round 1.
  • Finau Latu: I think he'll get a chance off the bench toward the end of the season.
  • Hamish Stewart: I think he'll get a chance in first grade sooner rather than later.
  • Loko Pasifiki Tonga: As for Hamish Stewart.
  • Corey Ackers: Probably 2026.
  • Jonah Glover: Maybe won't make it.
  • Lyhkan King-Togia: I think he'll find himself in first grade sooner rather than later unless Atkinson comes a year early.
  • Nick Tsougranis: A lot of players in front of him for now but I think he has so much talent.
  • Hayden Buchanan: 2026.
  • Aaymon Fitzgibbon: Maybe 2026 or 27.
  • Jacob Halangahu: 2026
  • Kyan Hjaltason: I hope he gets a chance at some point in 2026. Have a lot of depth at hooker for now.
  • Jett Liu: No idea really. A lot of players in front of him.
  • Kade Reed: 2026 for sure. Unless Iilas plays out of his skin next year.
  • Ben Rumble: I hope he goes well in NSW Cup and gets a chance in first grade sooner rather than later next year.

Couchmans are only 20 as well I think. Sadly, a number of these will have to be let go. Just too many good, young forwards.

If every pack has a hooker, 5 forwards and 3 on the bench, in 5 years how about:
  1. Couchman
  2. Couchman
  3. Pasifiki Tonga
  4. Ackers
  5. Egan
  6. Latu
  7. Tsougranis
  8. Weatherall
I know there is some very serious talent missing out but this is a balance. I know a lot of people will say Stanley-Traill or Halaganhu > Egan but Egan will get through a mountain of work allowing Latu for example to concentrate more on breaking the line, scoring tries. And hopefully he, Ackers, Couchmans and Tsougranis will stay for a bit less money than they could make elsewhere.

Lyhkan King-Togia

  • Injury: Fractured jaw
King-Togia suffered a fractured jaw whilst training. The teenager will conduct non-contact training for the next six weeks and will be available for trials.

A few other injuries as well but all should be available for trial matches with the possible exception of BMM but he won't figure in first grade until at least several rounds. But anyway, this might not be a big problem. Give LKT some more time to concentrate on non-contact parts of his game like kicking. Seems he doesn't need much tackling practice. He might smash a few blokes running at him next year. If or when he is selected in first grade.

Embarrassment of riches!

Definitely. The bloke is built like Hulk and is only 18. Noted someone said he looks ripped. Agree certainly from last year. Dead set reckon we can do better than Egan. What about this Daniel Meafou am hearing so much about.
He is more talented but if he keeps going the way he is, he's going to be on a mil a year in the near future. Egan will get through a lot of work leaving the more talented players with more energy to break the line and score tries. In theory he and Halangahu would be a perfect backrow combination.

The future is looking bright, however the big trick is to ensure you have the salary cap to keep the must keeps . It won't be easy, I would suggest that financial planning is well under way hopefully

I rate them both but gee as much as I have rated Egan for a while, looking at the forward talent coming through the grades just a bit younger than him........ lots of competition for spots, lets put it that way.

Yeah there’s no doubt Halangahu/Stanley trail are better edge back row prospects. I personally rate Tsougranis more than Egan.

I’m loving the Forwards and Halves depth in the pathways.
Ah Kee/Hammoud/Mclaren/Reed/LKT all very exciting and unique players with lots of potential

Tonga/Halangahu/Latu/Meafou all elite NRL caliber talent.

Hoping Saifiti jnr/Tomo/Kirk/Williams/Afu and Buchanan can make a big jump as on paper that’s a pretty exciting crop of backs

I wouldn't underestimate Egan but he has some very serious competition.

Jake will be our enforcer tearing up the middle like a runaway bull popping balls for guys on his shoulder. Giant Loko Jr will use his exceptional speed and ball skills while Finau will swat away guys like flies down the edge. Dead set am excited waiting until the new three amigos again hit the pitch together.

Am hearing none of our most promising 18/19 yr juniors are contracted past '27. This needs to be rectified as a priority to avoid poaching.

I was more impressed by this bloke than Frank Molo. Short mins big impact. For some reason BOD has a sweet spot for big dud Molo. I'd start him in Ressies. Hoping Dan Lawson has been working Vili Fifita into the turf. Love to see this giant dude come good and toss Molo, Mariner and BMM to Ressies where they belong..
