I have been calling for this for a while as Tyrell has the ball skills and vision to suite 5/8. If he sees a small gap he is thru it in a flash too. So has my vote.Sloane could play 6 or 2, 5 with Gutho to 1.

Don't get too excited. Dragons have now been made favourites for the spoon next year. If it only came down to what he does on the field, it would have been good to be able to keep him for one more year. But yeah, what he has done off the field made him staying untenable.Dragons cut Ben Hunt loose immediately in bombshell call
Ben Hunt's time at the Red V is officially over, with the club splitting with the Maroons star after their relationship broke down.
Just made my day, week, month and year.
Mate we dont wanna put a roadblock in front of Loko Tonga Jr. who will also be 20 shortly. We need a solid experienced first grade bookend with some size, a good motor and an offload. What about Sharks Tom Hazleton or Oregon Kaufusi. They have the size and age and look to be strong workers. Are these two on Flannos wish list as hearing he has been talking to a couple of Sharkies middles.Josiah Pahulu
Nah we are better than that without Hunt. Kyle has a decent short kicking game and that was Hunts best asset, is also a better defender. So if he can show he can handle the added responsibility of being the prime play maker and game manager then we wont miss Hunt for a minute. Add a big, young keen prop with a strong motor to join Jack, the Couchmans, Holmes and Cook and we can do even better than last year imho.Dragons have now been made favourites for the spoon next year.
Is he a done deal, anyone know.Clint Gutherson
Look you are entitled to your opinion but Sloan is not a game manager, doesn't have a short or long kicking game and cannot organise a defensive line. His strengths are his speed and attacking ability. He is poor defensively one on one . We need a hardened experienced half back and prop forward until we buy them we won't be playing semi finals football next season. Hopefully now that Hunt is gone we may be able to buy those much needed players . Believe me and it happened to me in my coaching days losing your club cpt, playmaker and marquee player can have devastating consequences luckily this has happened at the best time.I have been calling for this for a while as Tyrell has the ball skills and vision to suite 5/8. Would prefer they bite the bullet with Kyle Flanagan halfback for next year and give LKT a chance or recruit Jackson Hastings or Adam Douhi. Two halfbacks Dragons could poach to replace Hunt
A swap deal of sorts could eventuate after Ben Hunt was released by the Dragons, with two possible replacements on the radar.
No way Edward under no sircumstances was it good to keep Hunt for 2025 he was never going to do anything for the dragons. I'll place a bet with you now that dragons will not be anywhere near the spoon next year. Only onward and upward for dragons now Hunt has gone I couldn't be happierDon't get too excited. Why do you want Gutho? To play fullback? Sloan on the outer for you? Can't say I disagree about that. He's coming into his 4th year of first grade. He's in the middle of his career! But not sold on Gutho. Why do you think Parra want to get rid of him?Hope we can nab a good prop too, how many spots do we have left 2 or 3? Gutho/prop/hb would be awesome. Something like Gutho/Leo Thomson/Pezet
I never said he was. I did say he has ball skills and vision which he does. We need to find a prime play maker that can hopefully take control, in other words game manage, specially when we are in a position to win. Something Hunt was unable to do in seven looooong years.Sloan is not a game manager
He is an improvisor. Plays a lot of his footy this way as is what makes him dangerous and can bring him undone on occasions. His defense is improving and given he will not have to take on more than one player at a time I expect him to nail far more one on ones from the middle. His pace will not only have him sniffing for holes in the line but will put him in good back up positions too.My view on Sloans short kicking is its not really well thought-out.. its more of an instinct he has when his path to keep running closes down.
Agree. The relationship had obviously become untenable. But now we are in a hole for a halfback next year. I was just saying, if the relationship off the field hadn't gotten to where it was, it would have been handy to keep him around for next year.No way Edward under no sircumstances was it good to keep Hunt for 2025 he was never going to do anything for the dragons. They are talking about Sean O'Sullivan coming with Hunt going to the Dolphins. I'm happy Hunt is finally gone but a halves combo of Sean O'Sullivan and Kyle Flanagan is very far from NSW Cup standard. Doubt they could crack the Illawarra SG Ball team unless one of them had a dad on the coaching staff. Our Roster as of 24hours ago (and I suppose technically today) should be favourite for the spoon imo.. I would kill for any other clubs roster, even the tigers who are probably the worst of the other 16.. I mean they have a few holes (especially middles)... but that spine.. plus guys like S.Fainu.. he is god-tier.
But our recruitment is far from finished.. 4 'major' signings to come yet (at a minimum).. that closes the big gap.. atleast we can be competitive with that.. and then we are banking on Flanno outcoaching Ryles, OBrien, Maguire, Woolf, Patten, Webster, Benji etc.. but I dont expect broncs and souths in particular to be struggling like 2024.. Parra/Warriors im not sure..
Hes a hot head aint he. No ball skills, we want a big dude that can bend the line and then offload for second phase play. There are 2 props Oregon Kaufusi and Leo Thompson on that off contract list that can do that.Lodge
Prefer Tannah Boyd or Toby Sexton if we cant have Pezet or Wishart.Sean O'Sullivan
